There needs to be some paper trail, contract, cheque clearance record of all transactions that occurred between the agent and your dad. If you have those, first thing is to visit the nearest police station. Preferably the Al Qusais, HQ and file a claim that is valid. i.e, if your dad just gave him the money upon trust, then it would be very hard to get it until you send your own “boys”. The police will advice on the correct course of action .

I was going to write the exact same thing! if there isnt any paper trail even the cops wont be able to help u out. Unfortunately this happens very often in Dubai. These days your money cannot be trusted in anyone hands but your own!
