Du’a Jameela for LLK’s benefit is a collection as stated by mirage … But it holds no basis in Hadith. It is a formula developed by Sufi shuyukh as a form of spiritual medicine like various hizbs … Such as hizb-ul-bahr, or the various dzikrs that have been developed… And so on …

The basis for these are to attain certain spiritual benefits … But cannot be viewed as sunnat or such things and also they cannot be classed a reprehensible bid’ah either, because of the nature of what they set out to achieve.

One should be very careful in doing zikr of Hizbs such as Hizb-ul-Bahr or Hiza-e-Qate’ etc. as you need to have Ijazah from your Shaikh, as far as I know.
