^ Yes, both of his projects 'Sunehre Din' and its sequel 'Alpha Bravo Charlie' were ISPR productions. He is a talented director behind projects like 'Fifty Fifty', 'Ankahi', 'Guitar 93', 'Show-Shaw', 'Silver Jubilee', but his movies are more like a propaganda.
Sarmad is a talented director and he got his recognition lately with Humsafar, although I consider his earlier projects 'Piya Naam ka Diya', 'Kalmohi' more artistic. Especially directing script of Bano Qudsia (Piya Naam Ka Diya) was not a child's play. Bano Qudsia, whose scripts were earlier directed by legends like Muhamamd Nisar Hussain. Sarmad would be good addition, if he decided to produce a movie.
Even Mehreen did portrayed a good subject in Raam Chand Pakistani.
I think I'll start watching Piya Naam ka Diya. There's not much else to watch these days other than Mata e Jaan and Durr e Shahwar. Thank God Mad Men is back on air. something to watch on sunday night
But when your audience were made used to movies with songs where hero-heroines romance was shown as per societies acceptable norms and some dictator came and place flowers on screen during a song sequence, your audience does not accept it. There was no censorship for showing violence through gandasa of Sultan Rahi during Zia regime, but the censorship fell on hero-heroines scenes.
No doubt Iranian movies are superb, but still they have limited audience. When India made movies like Arth and Sholay, which movie attracts more audience
Just like Shoaib Mansoor’s movies He always tries to … Darya ko koozay main bund karna.. As if its his last day to reveal all the evils of Pakistani society.
