Dryness on cheeks

I’ve always had a combination skin, with an oily T zone and a fairly dry skin on the rest of the face, but recently I have noticed that my cheeks have gone considerably drier. I can see some actual patches on both sides and even my moisturizer doesn’t seem to be doing anything!

Anything I can do?

Re: Dryness on cheeks

You answered your own question, change your moisturizer, im probably thinking that cause of the Tzone you are probably using something for oily skin which is not providing any moisturizer to the rest of your face.

Its time to change and your skin is telling you to do so.

Re: Dryness on cheeks

So if I switch to a different moisturizer meant for dry skin, wouldn't that affect my oily areas and maybe cause breakouts?

Any suggestions?

Re: Dryness on cheeks

Oily skin will break out of the pores are clogged causing the sebum to trap inside and cause bacteria to grow resulting in a breakout.

Not all moisturizers clog pores.

As we age our skin demands attention to suit its needs.

After 25 it demands hydration and if you deny it you'll end up with dry patches which will then end in wrinkles.

So search online for moisturizers that donot clog pores and you'll be fine.

I have the same skin as yours, oily nose and dry cheeks

I use one myself and it doesnt cause breakouts.

Sounds good! Thanks!

I use ROC after switching from Ultraceauticals and ive noticed its much better apart from being $40 cheaper.

Depends on where you live and whats available to you.

It'll be easier to search google and go to beauty forums and read what people have to say bout different products.

If all else fails keep using the one you are using now and on your cheeks use something like Cetaphil moisurizing lotion.

Re: Dryness on cheeks

I have seen ROC at our pharmacies here. Maybe I'll try that. I also heard about Clinique's Dramatically Different being really good for this type of skin, but then I also heard some negative review. I guess it's sample time!

Thanks Adra!

Re: Dryness on cheeks

Duno bout L'oreal, never used it.

With ROC they have 3 different moisturizers, A normal one, An aged skin and a tinted one.

The normal one is the best the rest are just fancy ones.

Re: Dryness on cheeks

oh and their eye cream is awesome too :)

Re: Dryness on cheeks

Gosh, thanks for all the advice girl!

I'm thinking we should start an Ask Adra forum...what d'ya say? You've always been such a great help!

Re: Dryness on cheeks

niksik also if its just ur cheeks drying out use glycerin/lemon juice and rosewater mixture on it, thats very hydrating.

Re: Dryness on cheeks

Yes, I should try that too. I have glycerin with rosewater in it, from CVS. Maybe that should help.

Re: Dryness on cheeks

ye actually skip the lemon cos that will probably sting a lot :D

yups V A S E L I N E

hahahhahaha

anyways

use vaseline on only dry areas but dont do it regularly

its just til u got those dry patches i mean use it ask a mask

just put a layer of vaseline on ur cheeks and leave it for 10 mins until skin gets soft

then dip a washcloth in hot water squeeze the water out and put that washcloth on ur face and repeat it for 5-6 times

then use that warm washcloth to scrub the dry skin off

and plz do it really gently

the dry skin wont cum off in one use u will have to do it for 2-3 times or until it doesnt cum off completely

so dont force the skin to cum off

and continue with ur moisturizes

if u have oily skin i will personally recomend olay’s classic beauty fluid

it doesnt clog the pores

if ur already using it then switch:cb:

Re: Dryness on cheeks

shea butter and inside of banana skin :>

Re: Dryness on cheeks

I heard Vaseline is not recommended by dermatologists because it clogs your pores but I usually use it for dry skin it works great.

Niksik, I also have combo skin and yes it sucks but I recently ordered this Dove moisturizer for sensitive skin and it is just so lightweight and oil free- just what we need. I also ordered a mild exfoliator with it and I see improvement and it has only been 3 days! That's just part of my skincare wedding prep but I highly highly recommend Dove to all you gals.

pure aloe vera gel - it's amazing stuff. it works wonders for dry skin, but it's very easily absorbed without any greasiness. i have the same skin as you have described and i just rub a bit of gel on these areas before i moisturise and before i sleep if i remember. it also helps to fade any blemishes from spots etc. you can easily buy tubes of 99.9% aloe vera gel from most health food stores.

i also spray my face with toner before moisturising and i would highly recommend Lush's Tea Tree Toner [ww w.ciao.co.uk/Reviews/Lush_Tea_Tree_Water__5642905 ]. Which i think gives far better results for oily skin than any of these moisturisers that claim they balance or mattify oily skin. You can then use any light moisturiser for normal skin and since the toner has balanced your skin and the aloe has moisturised the dry bits, you prob won't need to use too much!
