Dry skin

What can we eat or drink to remedy dry skin other than water?
I heard drinking a tablespoon or two of olive oil is good.

Re: Dry skin

Drink plenty of water and keep yourself hydrated, that is the key. Fresh fruits and vegetables, especially the juicy ones should help. Regular exercise to cause sweating and open up tiny skin pores should also reduce dryness.

Re: Dry skin

Look up OCM as a way to cleanse. Depending on your skin type, you can come up with your own combination of oil to combat your skin concerns.

For people who have severely dry skin, olive and castor oil combination is great.

Re: Dry skin

I meant drinking olive oil for overall skin. It's not just the face I'm concerned about. My face has combination skin, but the rest of my body is very dry in winter.

Re: Dry skin

This is general. Isn't there something which specifically helps moisturize skin? Maybe some vitamin or oil!

Re: Dry skin

if you looking for oral supplements in addition to various creams/moisturisers/emolients, Vitamin C is good for skin, Vit B complex should also be useful. Glutathione is another. Oils of various kinds, desi tootkas and over-the-count supplements and products may be good, but I have no knowledge of them, you can also try these.

Re: Dry skin

JazakAllahKhair. Vitamin C and B complex are easy to get. I'll take those.

Re: Dry skin

In Winter season most of the people drink less water and drink less fresh juices and due to this they face skin dryness as the best natural solution for that problem is to intake more water and fresh juices to make your skin more healthy and fresh.

Re: Dry skin

yes olive oil is good and honey with milk is also good for skin in winter.

Re: Dry skin

Biotin, omega 3, vitamin C, zinc, and iron... most people over look iron! Oh and I always take ashwagandha over winter and that helps me a lot as I am also prone to dry skin.

Re: Dry skin

I started drinking olive oil.

Oh yes, i've got Ashwaghandga. I'll start taking it from tonight.

Re: Dry skin

What's Ashwagandha?

@LP Someone mentioned the same to me about olive oil. Are you taking it everyday? Do let me know how often you take it and if you see any improvements? I guess I can make warm milk and honey a nightly ritual, sounds better than gulping a spoon of olive oil. I have stocked up on body butters for the winter and switched out body washes to more moisturizing ones. Skin is still dry and flaky by morning. And my scalp...oh my it itches!! Sometimes I have no shame itching in public.

I had dry skin too and one thing that really helped me was changing my soap
