My hair is dry and in he winter, it gets even more dry and static-y. I can’t even straighten it as that makes the static worse. I’m looking for a good shampoo but haven’t been able to find any. Any recommendations?
Also, anyone know any home remedies on dry hair? Has anyone here used Argan Oil? I’ve heard that stuff is great for hair and so I feel like getting on a plane and flying to Morocco and buying tons of it! I’m not talking about the Morrocan Oil etc sold here in salons…because I’m not sure how natural they are. I’m actually looking into buying pure Argan oil without anything else added in it. Anyone know where I can buy that from in North America?
I haven't used oil in my hair ever since I got married. I hate putting it on myself so before I got married my mom used to do it. But I'm thinking of starting to do it....I have Olive Oil at home, will try that. Honey seems like it would be so hard to use on hair because it's thick and sticky...will try giving it a shot. I've heard people use mayonnaise too but I feel weird about using it.
I was looking into shampoos that are sulfate free, there's this natural moisture Tresemme one I recently picked up but just read the reviews on makeup alley for it and everyone seems to say it's super drying. I guess I'll use it anyway for a bit since I've bought it then look for something else.
Honey can be mixed with other ingredients such as egg, yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, henna...and applied to hair. That way it's less sticky.
Also, after shampooing your hair...you can apply a few drops of olive oil, or argan oil, or a commercial serum and that can make hair softer. Hair and skin absorb product better when damp.

Loreal has a sulfate free line that has a moisturizing conditioner. I've used it before...only issue is it comes in a regular sized tube. Not a large bottle.
Oh and I also feel like I was using more of it...but it did work well.
LOL…you don’t put olive oil in your hair b/c you hate putting it on yourself…but your searching for pure argan oil to put in it? Did you have this dry/static-y problem when oiling your hair before the wedding?
BTW, while reviews are great…they don’t always predict results b/c diff. products work diff. on everyone So try the Tresemme you bought a few times to see if it actually dries out YOUR hair.
BTW, what conditioner and other hair products do you use? How often do you wash your hair?
^lol, I'm actually trying to make an effort and oil my hair...so this weekend I will use Olive Oil, which is why I'm also on the look out for argan oil.
I had been using Herbal Essences hello hydration shampoo + conditioner for the past year, but now it leaves my hair flat and blah. So i'm trying others. I've tried the rainforest moisture conditioner from Body Shop...it was nice but for now I think I'm gonna use the Tresemme natural Shampoo and Conditioner I bought. I sometimes, not regularly, use Moroccan Oil on my damp hair. Usually wash my hair every other day or every 2 days.
My hair usually did always get static-y even back then when I would sometimes oil in in winters. It's fine in the summer. But horrible in the winter. I brush it and it's flying everywhere. :/ Even when I use Moroccan Oil on damp hair, once it's dried it still gets like that.
I have been using olive oil for a while and I find my hair soft and my scalp healthy!
I use paraben and sulfate free shampoo & conditioner and it really helps! No dryness at all.
I got the shampoo from community health.
Give olive oil and shampoo a try! Hope it works for you too!
I got argan oil hair mask from drug store and found it really good!
Loreal sulfate free line is great. Hair styling products still have silicones
Avoid sulfate shampoo conditioners
Avoid silicone based hair products - read ingredients, silicone chemicals end with -one.
Good nutrition - fruits and fishes, seafood diets help a lot in skin and hair - 3-4x per week eat fish
Other products - aced a conditioners, but they are chem based
Lush line - awesome natural works well but pricey.
