If I have to mention claritin and mucinex one more
time, I would expect those two companies to start paying me for advertisment.

Delsym is the BEST.
Also keep a lozenges in your mouth when you go to bed. It will slowly release the ingredients and prevent coughing. (I know it’s bad for the teeth but you need to do that just for a few days).

Sajal bajjo claritin is more for allergy than for cough

That’s right. And if the cough is caused by allergies then claritin
would help. From my personal experience when a cough doesn’t
go away and one has tried everytihng including antiobiotics then
one should give this a try.

But the cough during winter is not due to allergies.. its mostly flu.. 
as it is in my case…

milathi - its like this powder with honey. A M A AZING
OR honey with a bit of black pepper will do the trick
