Dry brushing.

I read about dry skin brushing when I had gained weight * after * my second child. ( yes thats right AFTER, pm me for details. No , jk , dont  )

Anyway, after I have recently lost quite a bit of weight, I was worried about my skin, and I started reading up about this old practise.
I was a skeptic, but I started anyway. But NOW,about 6-7 months in, I love it.

I only stuck with it because it made me feel good initially. Its reccomended to brush in the mornings, and that would wake me right up.
My skin feels great. I was worried about my skin losing some elasticity after going through two pregnancies and weight loss, but as far as I can tell, that hasnt happened too much.

It is supposed to tighten your skin, improve circulation, is GREAT for your lymphatic system, since it gets your lymph to flow, and detoxifies your body.
Also, it helps in digestion, and removal of dead cells and cellulite removal.

I realllly dont know if the good results are due to the brushing or if its all in my head 'cause I have been brain-washed by all the info, heh, but its worth a try.

Always use a natural bristle brush ( I got mine from WalMart). Shower afterwards so you can wash the dead skin off. Brush from the soles of your feet to your neckline in long gentle strokes.
And NEVER brush when your skin is wet, as that can cause microscopic tears in your skin.

Thought I’d share this with the ladies on here :flower1:

^ wow that looks long :D

I tried attaching a pic showing the direction of brushing, but its coming up as a red x.

Re: Dry brushing.

thanks for sharing simki =)

Is it supposed to be done everyday? plus how long is one area to be massaged?

Re: Dry brushing.

how long do you brush for? Do you brush in strokes or circular motion?

aww your most welcome.

njgal, it doesnt take long at all. it literally takes 5 minutes in the morning.
Long sweeping strokes, starting from the soles of my feet, upwards.
Then from your hands to your shoulders, and then upwards on the torso, towards the heart.
Remember all strokes should be towards the heart. And be gentle, dont get too rough.
I brush every area about four times, e.g , sole of my foot- four strokes , then the front of my leg , then the back ..etc
and oh btw, dont ever brush your breasts, it could cause some..complications.

And yeah Masi, once a day is good.

Here, this might explain it better.
