There's this other brand in superdrug's(uk) called make up academy i think. It's supposed to be very good and some people even go as far as to compare it to MAC :o lol. I haven't tried it myself but I may do. My sister uses the lipsticks and she's found them alright and my friend used the blusher which looked really good on her!
Oh yes, I saw a video on youtube on them. everything is £1. The eyeshadows are super super pigmented! I'm thinking of giving them a go myself, but just for personal use, not professional.
Yeh do let me know if they're any good? If they're a quid and good I might grab some items. I recently went to westfields in london and there was this beauty shop called beauty bay and they had this brand going called L.A colours. I grabbed some nail varnishes, which were 99p! and a few eyeshadows. I've tried the nail varnishes and i think theyre pretty good! They go on really well and they're not too runny or too dry. you can get the same colour as the bottle with only two coats and it lasts quite a few days considering I didn't go through the whole basecoat/topcoat etc. I haven't tried the eyeshadows yet tho..ooh actually yes i've tried one of the shadows and i found it very good. It stayed on my skin and didnt spread/smudge. I only kept it on for a few hours and i found it had stayed put so was well worth it!

I don't live near london so won't be able to check them out. I have heard of L.A COLOURS, they're an american company I think.
I'll be hitting superdrug tomorrow, will let you know if I get anything from MUA stand.
Glad to hear from you sugar!! Oh so finally Z bridall!..yeah i think its best to go on the shoot day so that you would have an idea how far did the students get..and also its really good if they give you a BABTAC. So that you get a proper certifcates to launch your bussiness. I wish all the best for you sweety..Wish i was around yorkshire but im in london too bad for me!!
About the Nyx, I have ordered some of lipliners and few of eyeshadows and it was hardly anything. But! the other day i got something shipped from the US and i had to pay around 13pounds coustom on 45dollers! i so hated it lol So i would say do confirm the custom thingy first if you are about to make a purchase over 50-100pounds. And i think it would be really nice to have Nyx lipliners in your professional kit for their amazing quality!!
Oh thalia i knowww!! it looks really pretty!!! wanted to get myself too have been looking on many swatches…i love their eyeshadows and mega shine lipglosses but the only con is it has this weird fruity smell which i dislike but its okay you cant get all you want in that price:D
Im having Avon super shock eyeliner on top of my wishlist
You can come live with me for the duration of the course! lol an I mean it too!
I made 2 orders on cherry culture all of them where NYX makeup!!! I spent $40 on the first and $50 on the other, both inc shipping. I made 2 orders to avoid custom charges (hopefully). I did a little google search and it seems that many people are not getting custom charged with cherry culture orders. I’ll PM you and let you know what I got when my order comes and even send you some pics, - just pm me your email address. How long did it take for your order to arrive? I’ll give you a little spoiler and it did include a few lip liners. Thank you so much for telling me about the sale!!!
I think I bought my Avon supershock eye liner when it was on offer for £3. I should have stocked up, but I didn’t know how good there were going to be . I’ll wait for it to have an offer and I’ll buy more.
AWWWWWWWWWW nausheeen you are just toooooooo sweeet!!! Thank you soo soo much for the offer for staying at your place but unfortunately im out of the country these days Wish i could do so but ill be back Inshallah in January or so hopefully…Its a long story ill pm youuu;)
And you are most welcome, Im glad that you liked the sale on cherryculture.com i think it will work out cheaper than buying on love-makeup.com i havent had a chance to try them but whenever i converted their price into $ they seem to turn out pricey…And omg it’ll be so much of help if you could send me the pictures of what you got so i have an idea what to purchase next on cherryculture… Oh and some swatches would be really appriciating too hehe:wub:
No hunny you should keep that little liner thingy, dont worry when you become a makeup artist ill make you do my free make over :DI’m joking!!

I'll defo give you a makeover hehe :)
Hope I don't come across as nosey, but PM me and let me know where you are living at the mo, might have some cool beauty stuff there which you could recommend!
Monistat chafing gel as primer… It works better than the makeup forever and smash box primer I have. (costs only $3-4).
Garnier anti dark circle under eye roller… one of the best under eye concealers I own. Way better than benefit and laura mercier, doesn't crease, super easy to blend, no more raccoon eyes for me! ($10-13 I think?).
Elf's high definition powder.. comparable to my makeup forever photo ready finishing powder ($6).
Elf's cream bronzer (idk the color/dont remember)… super easy to blend and creamy ($1 or 3 i don't remember).
Maybelline simply irresistible eyeliner (i don't think it is waterproof and it does smudge after a longggg time of wear but it lasts super long and it is sooo dark!! costs $5-6) Too faced, stilla, and makeup forever ones are way better but if I do not have times to go to sephora or if I want to save some money.. this is the one I purchase.
Elf's waterproof eyeliner pens… The colors are great and actually show up. Very water proof.. hahahha. last's longer than my Kat von D eyeliner pens… and very easy to use. I like it better than my UD and makeup forever liners. ($1).
Loreal liquid liners are great too but haven't bought one in a long time.
I do not use drugstore mascaras but I heard loreal voluminous ones are great. :)
Does it have the same feel as the Smashbox primers do? I have been using Veil and Dr Brandt but it gets pricey.
YES! it is silicone based and has the same ingredients as the smash box photo finish primer. Have you tried the smash box photo finish primer? If so, then you will think it is exactly the same thing. But you can not use too much of this. You can only use like one dot and it covers your entire face. The Smashbox one I felt like I needed at least 3 pea sized dots. Ohh and it is $6.. I just checked because I thought it was $3… but I lied. Sorry. It is still better than the $50 I was sending before on face primers that never lasted this long.
Elf brushes, Loreal Voluminous mascaras, Sonia Kashuk has great stuff and her beautyblender knock off sponge is amazing.
I want the beauty blender but can't decide whether to get the knockoff or the real one. Have you tried both?
Ohhh and I like my elf brushes better than my bobby brown brushes. Heheheh… I think they shed less (or never!). The quality is great for the price, especially the face brushes. I don't like their eyeshadow brushes though because they are all a bit off size. Like the c brush is too big and the packing brush is too small. Idk… maybe I am just to used to my laura mercier brush for eyeshadows and can't give it up (had it for 3 years now and can't find myself using another one).
Revlon just bitten kissable balm stains (similar to Clinique chubby sticks)
Rimmel scandal eyes waterproof eyeliner in nude (a great dupe for MAC Chromographic eyeliner)
Rimmel stay matte translucent powder
Maybelline falsies mascara
MUA blushers (shade 3 especially)
Barry M nailpolishes
Real Techniques brushes - amazing quality brushes
Maybelline eye studio lasting drama gel Liner in Black (very comparable to the Clinique/Bobbi Brown gel liners)
Look Beauty eye shadows (available in Superdrug only)
FAMOUS eye shadow palettes - you build your own palette (available in Superdrug only)
Barry M lipsticks (shade 150 and 152 are my faves)
Cosmopolitan beauty blend perfection brush - gives such a flawless/airbrushed finish
I want the beauty blender but can't decide whether to get the knockoff or the real one. Have you tried both?
Yes, I have both and use both. The Sonia Kashuk one is a good way to try out if you like the sponge method at 9.99. Different people prefer different methods: brushes, fingers, wedges, etc. The difference between the two sponges: Sonia's feels more sturdy which is nice when you're starting to use a sponge like that. Its got grooves to help hold it better and stamp/blend your foundation in place. You wet the sponge, squeeze out excess water and dab/blend product. You can use it for foundation, blush, contouring, bronzer, highlighting, etc. The beauty blender is softer, better quality but I find the material a bit delicate.
^ thanks! I use my hands and brushes but I saw a video on beauty blender and have been wanting to try it out. It just looks so amazing. I am thinking about getting the MAC full overage foundation and will have to get the beauty blender to make it sheer at times. I use makeup forever HD foundation right now but sometimes wish for more coverage on not so great skin days.
