Drug sentences ti be shortened

Today’s WSJ

More than 46000 inmates may have their sentences reduced by about 2 years for non violent drug crimes. (Why r they in prison in the first place). One in 5 imprisoned for non violent drug crimes. The reason appears to be because prisons r overcrowded. Exceeding capacity by 33 pct. Nice.

Of course this has met with opposition from prosecutors and law enforcement.
