Drug addiction
One is just stunned to know that there are around 200,000 heroin addict children in Pakistan. More then 1 million addicts live in Karachi alone, including 80,000 children, who often live in groups around a leader.
Addicts in Pakistan spend $40 millions a year and consume 130 tons of drugs. We are no longer a producing country but a targeted one, where child prostitution for addiction become more then ever. The government and related NGOs should make practicable policies to address/cope with child addiction and child labour.-NASIM ISHAQ, Lahore, February 8.
