Lets keep a tally of the brilliant fielding by our team in the first test match. The following players dropped catches:
Sami
Saqlain (twice)
Imran Farhat
Taufeeq
Moin
Any other on the shame list?
This is not to take anything away from the Indian batsmen. As Samb said in the other thread, it is not a reflection on the batsmen but rather on the poor performance by our fielders.
Will they get a chance to show their brilliant catching capabilities in the second innings, ----- highly unlikely.
I didn't see the whole innings. So which one did Moin drop, whom and at what score?
On another note, I can excuse some of these oldies for bring lousy fielders, but these newer lot should know the importance of good fielding. Seeing names like Sami, Imran Farhat and Taufeeq in dropped catcher's list is troubling. Esp Imran Farhat and Taufeeq (Sami has a bad excuse, cz fast bowlers are historically bad fielders). In this new age of cricket, catches really do win matches and some of the youngsters in other teams are phenomenal fielders. Even our own Imran Nazir and Afridi are very good. Why can't all new players be required to be exceptional fielders. Its almost as important as being good batsmen and good bowlers.

The catch moin dropped was very difficult one. This went for Four and Sehwag broke Laxman's record of 281.

Sami happens to be a fine fielder somewhat ironcially. His arm is probably one of the stronger and more accurate ones in this team. Never really heard about him dropping catches either.
It is pretty disappointing to see Taufeeq (especially) and Imran on the list.

At top level you HAVE to hang on to these catches. Its now always that ball comes straight to your gloves. One catch can change the whole match right then!
Taufeeq Umar HAVE to make 200+ now to make up for those catches he dropped.

They can give 200 runs but they can't make 200 runs. Everything is going the wrong way right from the start. If Razzaq and rest can stay on the wicket til team then it will be draw.
