Driving test.

How many times did you take the driving test before you got your lisence? How were your experiences? Was the examiner a jerk or were you nervous? I recently had a test…which I FAILED. The examiner nitpicked every tiny thing. I was slightly over the line when i stopped at the light. Anyways I’m going again this week.

Re: Driving test.

just relax and try not to be nervous.

Re: Driving test.

i passed my test on the first trial, even though my examiner was a Biaotch. Anyway i was pretty confident and relaxed before giving the exam, so her b****ness didn't affect me any way. It all depends wht kinda examiner u get, my bro got failled on his first trial as he didnt wait for the examiner to tell him to move forward after making a stop at a stop sign.

Anyway good luck, hopefully u will pass it (Inshallah)

Re: Driving test.

Saima....I failed the test TWICE!!!
First time I admit i made mistakes.....second time the examiner was a racist....who announced the test was over in 3rd minute....I wasn't surprised coz i could sense the hatred before the start of test.

Anyway....just relax n take the test.,...you can only do your best, rest is in Allah's hands.

G'Luck!

Re: Driving test.

I passed mine first time too even though I did a horrible 3-point turn but in fact it went easy because someone honked at me while I was making a 3-point turn and my examiner got out and actually threatened the guy to call police on him because I was a new driver giving a driving test and thus I was supposed to take time! He was a nice guy!

Also, I think if you do it through a driving school, you are guaranteed to pass it for the first time!!

In fact, I just borrowed school's car for my test and I think the guy must have been thinking that I took the lessons so he passed me otherwise knowing my skills at that time, I had no chance of passing my test! (not that I have improved much, but that would be off topic here)

Re: Driving test.

Goodluck.........When i was 15 when i drove the car 1sr time, and 4 sure it was not PK, if it was i wud be dead.maybe....it was in Canada...

I LOve driving

Inshallah u WILL Pass.:)

Re: Driving test.

Wish u good luck for future test. Be confident and I am sure u will pass. I went for driving test in three different countries, I failed it once in Saudi Arabia I passed it at second attempt (though I still cannot understand why the hell did examiner failed me). In PK & in UK I passed it first time.

Re: Driving test.

I think the difficulty varies from state to state and examiner to examiner. Good Luck Saima!!!

Re: Driving test.

Re: Driving test.

I had 6-year driving experience from Pakistan when I took my test in the U.S. When I took the test, the lady kept asking me not to drive with just one hand. But I couldn't drop a 6-year old habbit just like that. So I wasn't sure if I was going to pass but I did.

Re: Driving test.

^ I have the same problem.
If I keep both hands on the wheel, I will lose control. So I use my right hand only

Re: Driving test.

^ I actually use my left hand. My left thumb to be exact, except when making turns or lane changes.

:CareBear:

Re: Driving test.

:) ditto!

Saima... like someone else suggested, make sure you go for your test in a Driving School car. It makes the examiners perceive you a little better than the average joe. I personally took a refresher session the day before my exams and booked the same car for the following day's test. Passed in the first try both times... yes... we have this freakin "graduated" license scheme where you have to pass one written and two road tests each preceded by a certain fixed duration.

Re: Driving test.

sigh Saima, all sympathy with you woman! :bummer:

I got my drivers long long ago when I was still in Highschool. It was nice cuz I took the test at a small town in AB (Canada). Then I got married. Moved to Cali, moved to Pak, Moved to middle east, then back to pak and finally back to the Land of mayples. Took my licence for re-newing, and the girl said ok I’ve to charge u this, so I thought ok letme wait and renew it in Ontario, since I’ll be moving there. Now that I’m here, I discover laws have changed. I’ve to re-write the written test, since my licence had expired long ago. Then be promoted in freagin couple of yrs to “graduate” licences driver. I can only kick myself in the head for this when I cud’ve just renewed the licence in Calgary easily! I didnt :smack: And I’m paying for it really badly!

Re: Driving test.

DB, that's very similar to my situation. I've been driving for 15 years in Canada and now we moved to Los Angeles. I've never been in an accident or gotten tickets. I'm a good driver and very careful. So I'm finally getting used to the roads here, the tremendous traffic, the aggressive and rude drivers. But I got nervous being tested. I was also so worried about my kids that they're hungry or tired. Or that my husband has to return to work since he was on his lunch break. I just wanted to get it over with.

My husband told me that a few of his colleagues mentioned that they failed the test her at the Santa Monica office. It's apparently the 'hard' one. But I'm going to try it again. Thanks for wishing me luck.

Re: Driving test.

I passed the written one in the first go but flunked the road test once before I passed it. She said my turns weren’t good  Well I passed the next road test and my turns still aren;t good. silly woman wasted time for nothing.

Re: Driving test.

I passed the permit test with flying colors but failed the driving test the first time. Reason? Not using the indicator properly…kiss my arse :snooty:

Second time passed it with flying colors…like a 95% or something

Re: Driving test.

I know someone who failed their test cos they were too cautious and were driving 5 mph below the speed limit. The instructor failed them cos he said they were impeding the traffic.

I learned to drive in Pak on stick shift (was trained by an Army driver) and passed my written exam (only 2 mitakes) on the first attempt. A week later I passed the road test (85%) on the first attempt.

Women are just bad drivers :stuck_out_tongue:

Which one of these is you?

Re: Driving test.
