drive from Montreal to L.A

I’m thinking of driving to L.A from Montreal in december (around the 20th).

Has anyone done anything like this? I will be the only driver. Wife doesn’t drive. No KIDS!!! The car is a 2003 civic. How long is it going to take? 3 days? The longest i’ve driven before this is around 700km in a day. I’m assuming the speed limit is higher in the states, so probably i can do atleast 1000km a day. Also, how is the weather as I head south-west-wards? Guessing it should be warmer. How do the expenses pan out? Or woulde it be cheaper to get on a plane and go? Is the fuel cheaper there? It costs me ~30$ CAN to fill up the tank here

Plan isn’t 100%, more like 5%, but i’d like the info. before i commit.

thanks

has anyone done a MTL, TO --> FLorida trip?

If you don't really have time to stop and look around the different states and cities than it's kind of pointless. A road trip of that extent requires that your not limited on time. But if you have time and good company with you than I say do it! I bet that didn't help at all.

I went from T.O to Fort Lauderdale, Florida few years ago. 96 Accord, me and my bro. We switched drivers every six hours or every gas fill up. Had to make a stop at Dothan Alabama so that added some extra time to the journey.

It was an emergency road trip (sudden death/funeral) so we went straight down to Dothan, AL (20 hours - non stop) to the family and then to Fort Lauderdale, FL (9 hours - non stop) the next day for the burial.

Crossed like 70 states which im too lazy to look up. Its a long drive make sure you have good company. :-)
