Re: Drinks in Ramadan

Due to maghrib being late in the summer, we have been trying to omit some of the unhealthier iftar items like sugary drinks and pakoray so we have started to drink fruit smoothies instead of preparing fruit chaat. I feel we get more vitamins in this way than compared to eating a bowl of fruit chaat. These days I just blend banana, pineapple, blueberries, strawberries and a mango with a splash of milk and a few ice cubes. Other than that, we just drink plain water.

Do you have exact measurements to make this. I will be fasting so need something that I don’t have to taste as I go

Re: Drinks in Ramadan

  • Put cubed watermelon in a blender with mint. Rose syrup (optional). If it is too thick for you, add plain or flavoured carbonated water. So good and refreshing for summers.
  • Strawberries or any other berries, put it in blender. Add milk, elaichi, rooh afza, sugar. Serve with badam/pista and jello over it. yum yum. You can even add those coloured noodle/seviyan thing you get to make it even more visually appealing for the kids. Heck put vanilla ice cream and chopped pineapple over it and call it falooda!

Great way to add seasonal fruits to your diet this way.
