-doodh soda
-doodh sharbat
-juices

Re: Drinks at Iftar and Suhoor

My iftars & sehri both consist of my protein smoothies

I make them with either almond milk, coconut water or the 50/50 orange juice (the low cal/low sugar one) and use mostly frozen pineapple, frozen berries, banana, spinach, carrots etc along with 2 scoops of my protein powder

I did have one weak moment though where I made a mocha frappuccino for iftar and it was good

1/3 cup strong brewed black coffee
1 cup whole milk
2-3 tbsp choc syrup
2 tbsp sugar

Blend with ice and serve topped with fresh whipped cream and choc syrup :yummy:

Drinks at Iftar and Suhoor

Sehri everyone only drinks water

In Iftar parents have to have scanjvi (sp?) lemonade type drink and we usually have water or doodh soda

Re: Drinks at Iftar and Suhoor

^ we call shikanjavi

Re: Drinks at Iftar and Suhoor

Shikanjbeen?

Re: Drinks at Iftar and Suhoor

Yeah that! LOL my roman Urdu sucks.

We usually end it with a vi sound @khattichic but I’m sure it is the same thing

Re: Drinks at Iftar and Suhoor

I call it skanjvi as well, Guac.:lifey:

Proto, you can do milkshakes. Or punch…where you combine juice with soda and add scoops of sherbert ice cream. Or pina colada…that’s always refreshing. Coconut water? Halal mocktails? Fresh juices…I love carrot-orange juice.

Re: Drinks at Iftar and Suhoor

on a hot hot day, i would love to have ThanDai and/or talKha … these drinks really cool you down.

Re: Drinks at Iftar and Suhoor

Water, gatorade, and lemonade.

Re: Drinks at Iftar and Suhoor

strawberries smoothie/milkshake

  • half a pack of strawberries
-half a pack of vanilla ice cream
-half a glass of tropical fruit juice
Blend all together, adding the ice cream bit by bit.

Re: Drinks at Iftar and Suhoor

I love barley sattoo… Prepare a chilled sweet syrup with brown sugar and add sattoo powder to it.. It’s amazingly refreshing and use of sattoo is also a sunnah.

^ Ditto on that. My mamoo stays in the village and whenever we visit him my aunt makes satoo wala sharbet and it’s soooo refreshing and delicious!

We usually make Tang or rooh-afza/lemonade thing. Sehri is always water.

Re: Drinks at Iftar and Suhoor

We don’t get sattoo here, taht I know of! I’ve only had it while I was in pakistan!!

Also, we call it skanjvi, too!! :k: I think that’s the Punjabi way of saying skanjbeen.

Yup, skanjvi is the Punjabi way. It’s actually shikanjbeen.

And i only found that out by watching an episode of Khabarnaak. So thank you, mustached host.

Re: Drinks at Iftar and Suhoor
