I'd force her to leave those habits.

Re: drinking and smoking?
I think u can pick up whether someone does that (IF you get to know them), you can tell a smoker frm a non-smoker, by the way they smell (that is , if u get close to them :p)..other than that, u can also just ask, simple as that :p
Re: drinking and smoking?
perhaps u misunderstood me....what if they developed this habit after marriage?
Re: drinking and smoking?
oh okay no i missed that part only read the "foudn out after marriage"..
hmmmm why wud they develop that after? i dunno...thas a tricky 1
Re: drinking and smoking?
some people do.....some ppl develop bad habits due to stress or tension.
Re: drinking and smoking?
stress and tension
u got it!
Re: drinking and smoking?
Lol as a wife or husband its quite poor on your part if they take up drink or smoking after they are married...if they get stressed and tense then its on you to help relieve it...if they need other means to escape then thats bad on your part...
Inevitably its you that cuases the stess and tension hence they have no escapism or outlet...just encourage them to maintain friendhsips...so they do have that outlet outside of you...but for general stress and tnesion its a poor show on your part if your partner starts drinking or smoking...
Re: drinking and smoking?
Mango juice is alcohol? I’m a alcoholic then
.
I wouldn’t marry a girl who smoked or drank, lol my mom would never let me.
Re: drinking and smoking?
Dushwari,Islam has given us a guideline so we don't have to worry or make wrong decisions
Re: drinking and smoking?
generous, practical and sensible responses. thanks to you all.
Re: drinking and smoking?
^^ Well said Kinky. If we take guidelines from Islam, why would you start and if you already do, wudn’t you wanna give up to please Allah :swt: Afterall we do so much to please our friends, siblings, parents??
Quitting Smoking requires Will-power. I do believe ppl who are strong in other fields of life, can exercise their will power in that too. Join some programs, which may help you. Eventually smoking does hurt your health, esp. for women when they are planning to have a family/children.
Re: drinking and smoking?
thanks, larki NY,
u make sense and shared an empowering note :>
dushi
Re: drinking and smoking?
I left smoking because of my wife, so there is no chance in hell she is going to take it up.
I drink moderately and feel nothing wrong in it. It is not harmful as smoking luckily wife agrees to it, otherwise I was in big trouble.
No I donot have any problem if she wants to share a glass of wine with me now and then. But then she is religious type. So when we go out for dinner it's fruit juices for her and beer or single malts for me.
In the begining she tried to stop me, and I asked her not to give me hocus pocus. Give me a medical/financial reason. She gave me medical reason for smoking and I did quit for her. So until we have valid reason neither she is going to ask me nor I am planing to quit. Thats mutual understanding.
Re: drinking and smoking?
As long as it's done in moderation then i don't mind at all but i would worry that it might escalate in the future.
Re: drinking and smoking?
smoking and drinking are equally disgusting. but desies smoking in their houses with little kids... thats plain wrong.
