Dresses in Dramas

In old dramas the main dress was shalwar kameez for man and woman. but now days in dramas all dresses are there except shalwar kameez. Some of the new generation (both boys and girls )even donot know how to wear it. This is to put in the mind of young generation that our national dress in not good and other dresses are better. This is very dangerour for a society. It increase the inferiority complex in the society. We should stop this and should honour our national dress and all our national things. Just think about it!

Re: Dresses in Dramas

same thread like vulgarity in dramas

Dear Ali Usman,

We can never ever protect our national identity till the time indian media keeps on eating our mind!!!

kisi ghar mein aik din starplus na aey ar wahaan aurtoun ka haal dekhna phir!!!

just to let u know, my daughter is 2 1/2 yr old and im already letting her wear shalwar kameez! in my home we never ever watch indian channels, its just that my hubby has tv/cable in our bedroom so he watches there, but i have strictly made sure he does not watches them with my daughters... i cant afford to ruin their young minds with such crap!!!!

Good best of luck. we all should do this.

I cant understand why people blame everything on Indian media....why Pakistanis are not strong enough to wear their own traditional dresses why to blame others...?

Pakistani people wear tight jeans,skirts...again blame western or indian media..what a simple excuse..!!!

Re: Dresses in Dramas

How much of this phenomenom can be blamed on a bounderyless world?
I mean if we think about it -- in the olden days it took time for "fashion" to travel.
Now thanks to the internet its almost instant that the trends of Milan can reach even the outskirts of Pakistan.

How much of this culture change can we attribute to moving ahead in the world - and what can be done about preserving our culture and values.

If you see the west they proud on their culture. in france, italy, germany they not like to talk in english they talk in their own language. here in Gulf area they like arabic and their own dress which is Toop. Gulf is more advance in technology than pakistan and more fast because most of the population is foreigners even than they proud on their own culture. In Pakistan we donot have any foreigner. Imagine if we have 3 Million Philipenos, 2 Millions from western countries what will happened in pakistan. we will loos our identity because of complex, not because of world trend. All the world trend are affecting only pakistan, india and banladesh why????

I KIND OF STRONGLY AGREE WITH AQAL-LESS POINT.......NO BODY FORCES US TO FOLLOW INDIAN/ENGLISH TREND OR TO WATCH THEIR DRAMAS/STUFF............WE WATCH IT WITH OUR OWN WILL..........HUMARE UNDER ITNI TOU POWER/HIMAT HONI CHAHAIYE NA KE HUMARE UPAR KISI OR CULTURE KA INFLUENCE NA HO..........INSAAN KO APNA AAP MAZBOOT BANANA CHAHIYE OR NEEYAT SAAF HONI CHAHIYE

Re: Dresses in Dramas

We as a society become weak and mentily sick. we thing that every thing which is coming form abroad is better than local. we prefer english than urdu. we prefer jeans than shalwar kamez. we prefer imported good than local made. This is the reason we are back. we should give first priority to our own local language dress and all local made things. only in that case we can be convered to a healthy society and also become develop country, it is all in the mind. Before four hundred year this sub continant was very rich country, there was no petrol at that time, the only thing was that the people were not sick mentaly. they prefer local things and they proud to be local.

Re: Dresses in Dramas

You have two separate threads running on basically the same issue. Stop being so uptight, and just don't watch if you don't like it. Hey I have a recommendation for you. QTV seems right up your alley. No haraam there, unless if you see through some of the QTV celebrities for the fakes they really are. Seeing as you see holding hands in a drama as haraam, you probably don't.

We are not discussing haraam here. so stop it. QTV also showing Qawali which is full of Shirk ok. now Stop this we are discussing pakistani culture ok.

Re: Dresses in Dramas

we should be proud on our Pakistani dresses.
