Dress tricks for petite brides

What could be some tricks for petite brides (fairly 5’) to elongate them ?
Heels do wonders but maybe the cuts/colour combinations and other things that could help them.

when you’re petite, the fit and the cut are supremely important.

don’t wear anything baggy or shapeless or entirely a-line. wear a fitted shirt, a properly sized dupatta so it doesn’t overwhelm you, and, imho, stay away from huge trains attached to lehengas. repeat after me: less is more. if you want something with more gheyr, opt for a semi-farshi gharara in a lighter material like chiffon.

look at the way eva longoria dresses on the red carpet- she’s 5’1" and always looks killer because she’s usually in a fitted dress and the amount of fabric, plus the way the fabric is cut and flows, is never overwhelming and always in proortion to her height.

Thanks but what's a farshi gharara ?
And what should be the amount of kaam heavy/moderate, and the neckline, sleeves ?

Are there pictures to get an idea ?

i think its important to pay attention to the cut and type of fabric you use.
in my opinion, this cut is the least flattering for short brides because it draws your attention to the middle and doesn’t give an elongated look:

also, i think you should avoid concentrated areas of kaam near the end of the shirt because it cuts your length:

i think the obvious type of kaam to avoid is large motifs and stones. vertical lines would help:

i also like this panel style since it adds vertical lines through the use of different colours/fabrics:

as for colours, that wouldn’t really depend on your height, but more on your weight and skin colour. but i do think that shorter brides would be better off sticking to only 2-3 colours in their outfit because any more would kind of look overwhelming.
oh, another important thing to keep in mind is the length of your bottom, whether its a sharara or gharara. because if it’s too long or too short, you will end up looking even shorter.
another area i see some brides miss out on is the fit around the arms/shoulder area. it makes a HUGE difference especially for shorter/petite brides. you don’t want anything to look loose.
