Re: dress, girls and parties
Rukhsar ji, Thanx so much :) But what about in front of mom, will that be the same in that case?

Re: dress, girls and parties
I dont think its an issue as long as its between family but among starngers its all together different matter
In Surah 24: 31(Ayah), the Qur'an advises women to cover their "adornments" from strangers outside the family. In this verse of the Qur'an, it refers to the institution of a new public modesty rather than veiling the face. The Strangers here include both men and women.
What if a girl there take pictures of you guys in mini and all and show it around. you never know. Kiddin :p. I think modesty is not limited to just showing it to men. the same applies among women unless the situation is such you cant cover ur self knee deep or its among close relatives and family members.
I might be wrong so to be 100% sure about it you need to consult tsum1 who has knowledge of Islam or some ulema.
Re: dress, girls and parties
sherni I dont think its exactly "haram" to wear such skirts infront of females but I could be wrong. Its just better to cover up.
I mean I get rid of my hijab as in head scarf and my dupatta is rarely on my head at parties. Its more for fashion at parties then covering up. But I dont stick out my legs or top etc. I still wear decent clothes, but as you know party outfits are not always so modest.
Re: dress, girls and parties
I dont like short skirts, i just wear skirts knee hight not shorter then that.
Its feels u wear nothing if you wear short skirt.
Re: dress, girls and parties
I dont understandement your query, but I will give it a shot…If one’s mother is a whore, then yes…
Re: dress, girls and parties
And when you wear skirts that come down to your knees, you feel like a nun coming out of a monastery…
Re: dress, girls and parties
Speaking from experience?
Re: dress, girls and parties
shalwar kameez + dupatta nice combination. or good loose western clothing with shawl etc {agar apnai kaprai pehnanai sai sharam ati hai angraiz hazraat kai samnai.}
mini skirts, tight tops + jeans+ all other similar outfits = filth.
or agar short kaprai is ur norm atleast have some sense to wear a cardigan or something on top
Re: dress, girls and parties
Repressive sexuality leads to such thought process. A girl wearing a mini skirt can be just as demure as one in burlap and a girl in burlap can do the hokey pokey with the best of them. So stop your silly generalizations and get laid for god's sake.
Re: dress, girls and parties
Matsui, I completely disagree with you. Repressive sexuality leads to repressiveness. If one wears loose clothes one starts to believing in being one and ends up becoming one. Tight clothes make people think that they are tight.
Re: dress, girls and parties
6 of one..1/2 dozen of the other Srimati Madhanee.
Re: dress, girls and parties
Sherni, its better if you ask a teacher if you have one.. coz everyone comes up with their own opinions, and you wouldnt get the right answer.
Re: dress, girls and parties

Re: dress, girls and parties
The keyword is “Commanded”
Not Encouraged
The most commonly reference of the hadith used is:
"There are two types of the people of Hell whom I (Muhammad :saw: ) have not seen: men with whips like the tails of cattle with which they strike the people – meaning wrongfully and aggressively – and women who are clothed yet naked, and walk with an enticing gait.”
Re: dress, girls and parties
If you are seeking an islamic persepective i would be more concerned about upseting my mother than how much i am allowed to reveal - if u don’t wear such things to party y do it when u know it upsets ur mother??
There is a concept of aura (what needs to be covered) in female company too, i can’t remmber if its from the neck or the chest but it is def down to your knees. For men the aura is from the navel to the knee.
Re: dress, girls and parties
ah that’s the word I was looking for “aura” thanks Serendipiti!
Re: dress, girls and parties
ladies aura {even in front of fellow females} is everything covered bar hands, feet and face.
Re: dress, girls and parties
LUC - i believe there is a distinction between women who you know(i.e. know their character) and women who u don't know, so infront of your freinds you may wish to show your hair.
