dreamz..

i wanted to know…

is it wrong to interpret dreamz?.. i heard that when u have a bad dream u shouldnt talk about it.. cus it may happen… but a few months back.. i had an extremely terrifying dream… it was unusual… and i wanted to know what it meant..

i kinda know.. my conscience was probably playing with me.. and hence the dream… but islamicly.. can we try to seek meanings for our dreamz.. or is that a no no?

I don't think there is anything wrong in interpreting dreams. Dreams are basically a result of what goes on in your regular life. Often, dreams are a way to get rid of emotional arrousal which is unexpressed. For example, if you had a screaming session with a friend, you are not likely to dream about it that night since you have full expressed yourself. However, if let's say your boss yelled at you, and you were not able to express yourself, you are more likely to dream about it.

hmm.. thanx...

well this dream was slightly different.. it didnt have much to do with being mad at anyone.. or wanting to yell..

thing is.. i cant even remember now.. but i think i must have been feeling guilty about something... it happened just before a friend of mine went to pakistan... im trying to recall what i was feelign quilty about.. thaz right.. i think i had been a bad daughter.. and it was getting to me..

.. during that time i had a wierd dream.. i was travelling in some dark wooden train.. it had cracks everywhere.. and i remember there was no lighting... and wind was blowing fiercely.. no one was in the train.. except me.. then in the darkness.. two huge man like beasts came in..i couldnt seem them cus of the darkness.. then they came over.. and started beating me.. with thier arms... (honestly i can still feel the pain).. and i remember being curled up and wanting it to end.. i remember thinking.... 'this is what hells going to be like'

so yeap.. that was the dream... i know it doesnt so bad... but it was horrible.. like it was so physical..

i am not sure but bad dreams are not to be told

woops.. i just told u...

but then isnt that just a superstitious thing? and we shouldnt be like that right?

nah heard it many times don't tell .... hmm i think i open a similar thread before lets see if i can find it

I don't see how interpreting a dream can be a bad thing. Where did you hear this from? "Hearing" it from people doesn't make it wrong.

but then.. just cus a lot of people say it doesnt mean its true... right?

here thought not of much help

this will me more helpful here

Our prophet salaam, regualarly iterpreted dreams, for those close to him, there are some books on this subject, ...no I dont feel it is wrong, to try too figure what your dream means.

i was once told that if u have a nightmare, u should spit beside ur right or left shoulder whatever that was...not sure. i never implemented it as i was never sure about it...

^ left shoulder

Shaikh Suhaib Hassan ibn Abdul Ghafaar - hafidh’Allaah - writes in his book ‘The Journey of the Soul’ that when the human body is asleep its soul is able to wander freely and speedily through the heavens where it is able to meet others souls, and these travels are then remembered by the person as dreams. Umar :razi: once asked Ali :razi: why some dreams come true while others are false. Ali replied that whatever a soul hears in heaven during its sleep journey is truthful and will come true. However satan will try to confuse the soul by mixing its vision with fears and lies so that the person will awaken to remember either nightmares or a confused medley of dreams which make no sense. In this regard the Prophet (salallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said : ” The most truthful among you in speech will have the truest dreams.”

Therefore dreams should always be narrated to a person who has the true knowledge of interpreting it… otherwise the way s/he interpreted the dream; better or worse; it will be destined to happen like it…

Allah knows the best…
