Yes the package details sounds really impressive but do not you think the location of the main venue means DREAM WORLD RESORT kill the all attraction as we have trend of night wedding receptions ans late night wedding reception in particularly karachi especially, and in un certain circumstances of city, i think not many of one's guests would prefer to go to DREAM WORLD resort at night to attend a wedding
IF it would be situated some where in accessible areas of khi like shah re faisal, karsaz, gulshan, even in clifton, dha, it would be smashing deal

Re: Dreamworld resort wedding packages
Actually i am looking for some good wedding venue in karachi..not the normal lawns and banquet halls, but something really different and affordable at the same time, and if anyone's got other ideas,i'd like to hear them... :)
Re: Dreamworld resort wedding packages
It seems like a great place and a different one too if one can afford it only problem is the location due to security. People coming in public transport will also have issues coming at night. However, it could be dealt with by having the event early evening or afternoon or you are so set on the venue.
Re: Dreamworld resort wedding packages
I checked with them. The first package with 16 dishes costs Rs. 650+tax per head, which I thought quite reasonable since the venue is complementary. They said we could select any outdoor location of our choice and bring our own decorators or select one of their theme setups, which start at Rs. 2 lacs and go upto Rs. 15 lacs. Or we could select one of their banquet halls, which they would charge for. They even have transportation system if we require it for our guests... But my father isnt interested in that, so not going for it.
Re: Dreamworld resort wedding packages
Are you sure its 650 for 16 dishes??? That is quiteee cheap and too good to be true given the market prices of food stuff these days
Re: Dreamworld resort wedding packages
I wouldn't take the 16 dishes on face value. I don't know about Dreamworld, but what commonly happens when caterers are making a big deal about a ridiculously large number of dishes is:
- they're counting all sorts of things in there, like chutneys, salads, nan, taftan etc.
- they reduce the quantity of individual dishes quite a bit so overall it's the same amount of food
- this is a tactic to entice people because their food isn't actually that tasty
arena had something similar which sounded really great at first (god knows how many courses and hey, they were even throwing in a free cake + bridal makeup at sabs + 1 night stay at sheraton + event photography). we had no experience of attending weddings there and when we mentioned it to a family friend, he pointed out k the food at the buffet at their restaurant is pretty bad and we realized there really isn't any advantage to having lots of blah food. :)
Re: Dreamworld resort wedding packages
Its actually Rs. 650 + 16% tax which makes it Rs. 754 per head. I would attach the menu list the person sent me, but i am not able to find the option to attach files.
