I wanted to know what islam says about dreams.. is it really true that your dreams are a sign to something that probably is going to happen ? and how can you interpret your dreams?
Re: Dreams
yeh thas true in Islam k your dreams do usually mean something but at the same time they can be from the Devil to put people off ...
and to interate dreams ..theres usually Imams and scholarly ppl who are able to with great knowledge they posses and thru the light of islam ..dreams can be interparted lekin it does not mean k they have to be 100% actually true also.
Re: Dreams
is there any way to interpret the dreams "online"? i mean any website where you can contact the imam?
Re: Dreams
There are 3 kind of dreams in Islam :
1 The truthful dream (Rahmani)
**2 **The dream stemming from personal desire (Nafsani)
**3 **The dream coming from the devil (Shaytani)
Just found the following site, where you enter the word and it interprets its meaning in Islamic perspective.
http://www.firdaous.com/en/0064.htm
p.s. I hope it helps, kindly correct me if anyone finds a better source of dream interpretation.
Re: Dreams
Just wanted to add the following information about the dictionary I posted above.
[QUOTE]
The dream dictionary presented here is based on the work of Muhammad Ibn Sirin, a specialist in the field of dream interpretation in regards to the traditions of Islam.
Muhammad Ibn Sirin was born in 654 and died at the age of 77. He was a very pious Muslim. He belonged to the tabighins, formed by the kufit school.
However, in today's world, he is more know for his expertise in giving the meaning of dreams.
He also brought lots of hadiths from Abu Huraira, Anas Ibn Malik and others.

Re: Dreams
as well as the 3 types of dreams u mentioned above STP bhai ive also found that if I am thinking abt a specific thing during the day whether it be exams or any kind of worry , even a relative I always end up having a dream abt that particular thing, which catergory does it cum under??? Even the dreams arent bad they r just sooo randomn, dnt make sense, but i have a vivid menory of these dreams??
Re: Dreams
^ Sister, such dreams are usually included in either of the last two catagories.
I read it somewhere before that usually we see meaningless and odd kind of dreams when we are too much stressed and we eat too much before sleeping. Sometimes when we are thinking too much about anything than it also comes in dream, that is also included in catagory 2.
Any dream which makes us afraid and scared are from Shaitaan (devil) unless it is a warning from Allah (swt) for us to repent and correct our way of living.
p.s. This is just how I have learned and understood. I might be totally wrong. ( May Allah forgive me in that case)
Allah (swt) knows BEST!
Re: Dreams
thanks STP,

thanks,
Dushwari
Re: Dreams
noori get this. If I stand in front of you, tell you my name ask you urs.
And Then hit you hard in the head real hard. Upon comming back to you sense you wont remember conversation with me. When brain gets shocked it erase memories from brain in both direction <--------hit in the head ------>.
Same when you get a real strong emotional/bad/good news news in real life
past<-----------news---------->future.
It goes both way. So in sleep ppl with relatively clear mind precieve those feeling from future traveling back.
I see future events in my dreams all the time. since I was 14 year old. And it always about how I am going to feel(visuals, voices etc) in a certain time.
Re: Dreams
^exactly what i need to know is "seeing the future" in your dreams what does islam say about that? some ppl say ke you have to be a very pious person like imam or any scholar to see the future in your dream with other words a "normal" person like me and you cant have such dreams.. eventhough i very often have felt that what i see in my dreams or how i feel in my dreams have a lot to fo with my future... sometimes it might not be "The dream" but "the feeling" you had in that dream...
