1: What does it mean when you dream of someone who has passed away? And every time you see them they’re wearing a completely white dress and they’re smiling.
2: Do the dead really communicate with us through dreams? My nana abu (rip) came in my khaalu’s dream and asked him to do something which he did the very next day. Could someone not say that it was just a dream? Why take it seriously?
3: Are the dead really watching over us? Ever since my nana abu has passed away, and every time I’m doing something silly, I feel like nana abu is watching me and he wouldn’t be happy. I know we should fear Allah swt alone, but i’m not talking about fear here. Its just a feeling that nana abu is up there and watching.
4: When you recite something for the dead, are they informed in any way that your so-and-so has just recited something for you? Just like the angels inform Hazrat Mohammad saw every time someone recites the darood shareef?
I had something else in mind but I can’t remember it now. Will post when I remember. This is enough for now.
No one wants to answer genuine religion-related questions in this forum, everyone is just looking for some heated debate. Good pass time. Mods may delete/close this thread.

White and green dress generally depicts a good status in the hereafter.

When you pray for the dead, they are informed about it through Allah almighty but they don't know it directly.
I will let you know if I find some more info.
Allah knows best.
@ CP: if u read my questions they're not all about the dreams.
Secondly, whas even the point of this religious section if we don't answer any questions saying "there's no aalim here"... close this section altogether and we can re-open it when there's an aalim amongst us. :)

ALLAH generates dreams and its HIS will if HE wants us to see someone in our dreams. ALLAH can show it for any purpose, sometimes to recite for that person's spirit and sometimes to give us contentment that the deceased person's spirit is happily among ALLAH's blessed.
The dreams you mentioned means Excellent living in after life.
Green, white colours and smiling faces is an excellent sign.

Yes, In a way they do.
Like i said, sometimes the deceased is shown in a "bad" state and then we may need to recite for them. Its a way to tell us, that the spirit is not at peace and we as children should pray for them or do khatam-e-koran etc.

hmmmm.. I wasn’t so fortunate to live with my nana abu for many years… we’ve lived outside of Pakistan pretty much all our lives… away from all the relatives…
I could a write a big long essay about my nana abu. But for now, all I am going to say is that he was the kind of person infront of whom you’d be scared to death of hearing, speaking, or seeing anything wrong.
Another important thing to mention is that he was always always reciting different surahs… especially surah Yasin and ayat-al-kursi…
Many incidences have occurred around my nana abu that have left us in awe as well as shock… very strange incidences… that indicate his “communication” with the heareafter… i dunno how to explain it… like for example, a few weeks before his death, my uncle came back home from work and saw this “really handsome man with a glowing face, wearing a white shalwar kameez” sitting with my nana abu in the guest room… uncle says he had never seen that man before, he didn’t know who he was… nana abu didn’t introduce him to uncle, … the man just smiled, said assalam-u-alaikum and immediately asked nana abu if he could leave… shook and kissed nana abu’s hands and left… My uncle swears he saw an angel that day… (don’t laugh ) I know it sounds strange… but they live in a very small town, i’m very sure uncle would have heard of or known of that person if he was someone nana abu knew… it appeared as though he was very close to nana abu, but he didn’t turn up for the funeral…
And every time my nana abu became sick, he was taken to lahore and admitted in a hospital… but the day of this death, he refused to go to lahore, and said “ye masla yahin per hal ho jaye ga” … which is so not like him… he just knew this was it, even though he wasn’t extremely sick at all!
:hinna: i’m going to stop talking about this now… its making me sad… and im sounding funny at this stage…
He was a great man, and a very good muslim. No wonder everyone sees him smiling all the time.

1. when you dream of a person who passed away means you have to do 2 rakaat of namaz issalesawaab and then send the sawaab on the deceased person... if he is smiling wearing white clothes means he mayb is in jannah.. he is comfortable in his grave
yes they do communicate i give you an example theres a man in town who always criticise and beats her wife, fighting with children.. now when hes dead very often he comes into his wifes dreams and asks her to pray, read dua and send sawaabs onto him so that hes sins are forgiven.. he also tells his wife that he`s in great difficulty in his kabr and asking for help
yes every thursday night I`ve heard that our deceased relatives/grandparents come to see us.. so yes they r seeing us..
