These guys are horrid, not to take away from the teams that have brought whoopings down upon them but it is time to start sending college players who actually want to be in the Olympics rather than these clowns.
That's right...they don't deserve it!
They say "I love this game" but do you really? The new generation of players have no prestige or respect for the game whatsoever!

Lebron is a rookie and a joke! Way over-rated IMO.
And they call themselves the 'world champions'.
bringing a giant to its knees.........
Argentina 89, United States 81
Bronze is the best the American men can do in basketball, and the reason is simple: A hastily assembled assortment of NBA stars couldn't beat a better team

No, the Detroit Pistons are the world champions, not these guys.
pfffft ...
First thing first, this young squad shouldn't be labelled as "Dream Team". There has only been one "Dream Team" which was in 1992.
UTD, who were the players from college that came forward to be in Olympics? Can you name one?
What I find sickening that there were a great deal of Americans rooting against them. I don't blame the players or the coaches that were there and I don't blame the players that weren't there. It was a deeply flawed team from the start but I thought the guys gave it there all, they just weren't good enough, I guess that's all you can ask for.
Changes definitely need to be made to the way Americans approach International basketball. Nothing drastic. We just really need to focus on putting together a quality team and giving ourselves a chance to win, we definitely have the talent. Hopefully this just serves as a wake up call and guys will be lining up to play for Team USA in 2008.
p.s. Detriot Pistons are NBA champions. :p
^PT where have you been?
