Yes, that's one thing I can't stand! Buddhay heroes! Ugh! Its like a while ago , I was watching dramas and all I would see would be Shafi Mohammed playing hero roles in his old age. Urgh!
Pardah Na uthao was a good drama. Funny. But again, they had Umer Sharif playing a fresh graduate in search of a job and his mother was trying to get him married to her niece. comon!

first of all indian dramas or soaps as we call them are not worth mentioning indian movies well some of the movies made recently are of very high quality esp movies like "dil chahta hai"
iam not advocating hindi movies v/s pakistani drama sledging over here.suppose even if indian movies and dramas are crap that does not make pakistani dramas better
the first sign of progress is to realise ones mistakes.
pakistani dramas were of good quality sometime back esp the ones penned by hasina moin .the last drama which i liked was "hawain" the more recent dramas are not so inspiring and i repeat banal
i hope they try out some thing different, new costumes brave scripts
