Dramas

Are the characters in pakistani dramas a reflection of ‘real’ people..
or do the writers just make them up in dramas..
Do you guys relate to the characters, their style, mentality etc..

I used to be able to relate to the dramas back in the late 80s and early 90s but now either their characters have become too rich or i've gone too broke but cant relate anymore.

Agreed with Chee.

Back in 80’s early 90’s the characters were more close to reality.

Now they r either too fictional or perhaps in some cases “Wana be” …writers fantasy.

:bravo:

and every young pakistani girl or boy has a high flying job with a nice car, massive house and go out socialising with members of the opposite sex without any hassle from their parents at all!

A friend mine has a 9 year old daughter (born and raised in the UK) and she once asked her mum whilst watching a paki drama (in the UK pak dramas are very popular)

"Mum, do all the girls in pakistan have boyfriends? You said it wasnt allowed in Islam".

From what I hear, in real life it goes a step further than what they portray in dramas, they actually do a tad bit more than just going out for meals together or walking together in a park.

Yep, agree with cheegum here, dramas used to be much better than nowaday.. However, there r sum dramas that r close to reality, liek Moorat, ibn-e-adam n sum others on geo n ary that r really good. Most dramas liek jo baat ghar mai hai, and cafe chill n others r more about representing trends than people. I think dramas have become more about a ongoin competition with indian soap operas than a solid storyline with substance.

what i don't get are how the actresses look like they're going to a shaadi. even if they're just lying around at home, doin gnothing, their hair is perfect with pounds of makeup on their face, and they have dressy clothes.

i know ^^

i dunno.. u get the ones that are totally fantasylandish ie. mendhi and then u get some that are quite true

i think in every drama, u can somehow or another relate to a character or a scene, cus thats the attraction. If u dont feel anything, whats there to grab ur attention?

Plus, sometimes, if the dramas depict exactly what life is, you'll just get depressed.. i like being taken away to another world and forget my own worries for about 13-14 hours :)

Personally, dramas back then and now exagerate what life is. They make out that eevryone in the west is really bad.. a guy living overseas surely has two wives (one in pak and one in UK) and the girls are all bad.. b/w have u ever seen any politician in a drama whose actually not corrupt? hehe

i think dramas from now and then are basically the same. Its just the stuff they show these days, we may have not seen ourselves.. but im sure it exists. And yeah, lots of boys and girls date these days
