A cousin of mine refuses to look at any rishta her parents proopse as she thinks that her true love will one day knock on her door. this is a nice idea BUT is it really a ‘practical approach’
She lives in her own dream world…you know what its like in dramas…theres a girl…theres a guy…she’s swept of her feet by this guy…she goes against her family…and she lives with this guy who loves her so much…
So how many girls live in this dream world? Also, what about the expectations they have from the larka in the sense of personality and sweeping them of their feet…and how they can do no wrong…
I would leave her be.. If she is too much of a dreamer and not being realistic she will prob grow out of this phase but imo there's nothing wrong with wanting to meet 'the one' rather than just settling for any 'decent' desi guy who comes along. Best not to push her down the arranged marriage route if she isn't interested, she might change her mind later anyway..
It guess she is just too rich with all the good clothes, shoes and hell a lot of spare time to do nothing while everyone else roams around pleasing her. Nice life!
shers 28 and works on reception at a doctors surgery...the only ambitions she has is to be rich...BUT she thinks the way that will happen is if a rich man comes along
This thread is making me lol. Well, if she has enough spare time to dream, then why not. Although, she should be wary that she doesn't waste away her whole life just dreaming.

Ohhhh, I was thinking she was in her late teens or something and 'innocent'..
Girls like this really make my blood boil. Someone should tell her to get a grip and stop being a pathetic little gold-digger, if she wants to be rich she should go and get educated herself or start her own business.. Also, the families of more well-off desi men tend not to approve of girls who don't have or earn good money themselves (most will flat out refuse any girl without a degree + good job) so unless she can swing it some other way eg. by having the looks of Aishwarya Rai she prob hasn't got a hope in hell of bagging her meal ticket anyway..
give her a few more years and she will realize that their is no such thing as fairy tale love and marriage. Infact, let her get married and she will realize they are just dramas with nothing but usless stories :)
The shocking thing is she has done a masters but every job she goes into she 'doesn't like it'...i should add...she was married before which ended in divorce basically cos the guy was a total animal...but thats a different story! so then part of me thinks maybe she thinks that the world 'owes' her in some way?
