They call it being a truly democratic party that supports diversity of opinion within its ranks. I don't think that's the problem. They are just ineffective. It took an ex-President to show them how to ask the right questions.

^ that's secondary. when do you hear any democrats talking about real issues such as the economy, jobs, health care etc. they are either on a defensive OR trying to malign the Republicans..

Democrats do talk about real issues like minimum wage, prescription drug law, immigrations laws (funny enough they agreed with Bush on that) and the recent torture bill. They seem to be on the defensive because they are in a minority in this congress.
Their problem is that they are ineffective because of the foofy airheads like Nancy Palusi (sp?) of California who is no match for the public opinion spin machinery of the Roves of the world. They need a counter puncher like Clinton/Carvell (sp?).

They have: gradual reduction of the US forces and handing off security responsibility to the eye-rackies. Now, is that a 'solid alternative', nobody knows. The current policy is not working and bush & co. want to send/keep more troops.
Eye-rackies in a recent poll indicated that the presence of the 'occupiers' is fueling sectarian fires and they want the 'foreigners' out ASAP. This is what Dems have been saying all along but it's all falling on deaf ears.
Oh and one more thing, Bush and Co. are taking their cues from Kissingers who also kept the troops longer than necessary in 'nam. Many argue that he is re-fighting 'Nam in eye-rack.

Whatever it is man. they appear to be too lack-lusture and that's appalling..they just cant seem to find OR get across sound ideological footing; an absolute necessary to win general support..
