Drama about Hijray.

I was flicking through the TV channels and came across this Pakistani drama about a Hijra named Reshma, and a boy from their mohala befriended by them..

Seemed such a sad sotory in the way these wise hijray were being treated by the father of the boy.

Please leave these hijrays alone, They are wise and well meaning people.

do you mean the drama moorat. :konfused:

Aray baba, unfortunately I did not see the initial credits. I am not sure what it was called. All I know is that the hijra was called Reshma, and boys father was playing a double part (Reshma + father).

MOORAT

yes aalsi, in fact that's what the drama is all about - it explores the stereotypes associated with them in our society... and aims to show them as everyday human beings - and that's why you get to see the legends of Pakistan TV such as Abid Ali etc. playing the roles of a hijra... which is a very bold step.

Reshma already died.
The guy who is hated by his father and his a hijra is Baber.
His father doesnt hate him anYmorE....

that drama confuses me :konfused:

fitting since most of the characters are sexually confused as well. :rotfl:

the reason it confises me is because my mom keeps telling me that hijras are ppl who are neither men nor women smack…and she says that Babar in that drama is not a hijra, he’s just being stupid

in our society the word hijra is used to classify all the different types of sexually confused males. From eunuchs to gays and crossdressers. Everyones called a hijra in our society.

Moorat … amazing drama. Yesterday’s episode had me teary eyed. :teary2:

Thanks to those that replied with the name of the drama. The lead actor reminded me of a lesser version of Om Puri.
