Drain unblocker...

Just a question … How often do you use a drain unblocking bleech for your kitchen pipes and your bathroom pipes?

Mine got blocked and thats when i realized I must pour some bleech into the pipes every now and then to keep them healthy… but how often , I am not sure …

Any thoughts and advises?

Re: Drain unblocker...

bleach is good. but more than that hot-boiling water is very very effective.

once someone threw old chawal in my sink and blocked the whole thing, i knew bleach wont help or will take longer plus opening the sink from the back and cleaning the chawal would have made it messy.. so i just poured boiling water and it was cleared instantly. same for the bathroom sink or tub if they ever get blocked.

u can also use a jaali so that all big kachra doesnot go inside the pipe and u can simply throw it afterwards.

Re: Drain unblocker...

Yup...boiling water has done the trick for me too.
I pour a pot full of it every few weeks down the kitchen drain....so far, never had an issue with clogged pipes.

Have used the same for bathroom sink too but not that often.I use the drain opener chemical thing whenever need arises.

:)

Re: Drain unblocker...

Pour a good slug of soda crystals into the sink and a kettle of boiling hot water last thing at night ever couple of months. Keeps everything nice and clean.

Re: Drain unblocker...

15 months and no clogs in my kitchen or bathroom sink or toilet (thank God for that!!!!) but our tub seems to get clogged alot even though I clean it after every shower. =(

Soda crystals

Re: Drain unblocker...

Stop throwing fats into sinks...you will never have to use bleech... :D

Re: Drain unblocker...

When I was still living with my parents, once a week because of the amount of usage of the kitchen and bathrooms.

Now it's just the two of us, about once a month.

Baking soda and vinegar followed by boiling water does a good job.

Re: Drain unblocker...

Caustic soda and boiling water does the trick for me, also I use those plug hole strainers that catches hair and food.
