Volume VII: Chapter 4: Hadith 678
“Narrated Abu Huraira (r): The Prophet (sws) said, ‘The part of an Izar [garment] which hangs below the ankles is in the fire.’”

Volume VII: Chapter 5: Hadith 679
“Narrated Abu Huraira (r): Allah’s Apostle (sws) said, ’ Allah will not look, on the Day of Resurrection, at a person who drags his Izar (behind him) out of pride and arrogance.'”

I think it’s wonderful. I hate when guys wear their pants past their buttocks. Get a belt, foo’.

My dad told me that he thinks that the second Hadith is referring to Kings and Queens and the like who wear those large over-gowns that would drag on the floor behind them. An interesting thought.
I have a question. Is 'garment' the closest translation of the word "Izar"?

How do u get "below the ankles" translated into "past thier buttocks" ? :p Waisey i agree, the nigger gangster look is gross n not at all respectable or graceful or proud (like a Muslim shud dress) but still..

Well, that wud be the case with regular well fitting pants that are worn at the waist or lower (but not butt-low) as well.. also they can bewearin shorts, that r low low low :p
