its a really good hospital.... its our family hospital (we dont own it, but thats where my whole family goes)... especially their labour and delivery ward.. they should dedicate a wing just to my family :D
its not A class and definatley not at par with aga khan.... but really dedicated and well learned drs practice there.

Re: dr ziauddin hospital
I'v had both my kids at Zia uddin hospital, Clifton Branch with Dr. Robina. I found her very nice and ready to answer all my questions. The only problem with her is that she has too many patients and I had to prepare all the questions I wanted to ask before hand but that's how all gyneacologists in Pakistan are.. .always in a hurry. Also, you have to be a little assertive with the doctors here.. they are used to dictating the patients over here. Most people don't even ask why they are having a c-section when advised to do so. Read up on your situation before agreeing to a decision.
The hospital in itself is good.. quite organized and clean. And like someone else mentioned.. it's nothing like Agha Khan but then again I'v never given birth at Agha Khan :) I'v had a good experience both times at the hospital and would recommend it. But like I said.. do keep yourself informed, ask lots of questions and do not agree blindly to whatever your doc tells you.
With my first I was induced at 39 weeks coz of GD, but I was inexperienced at that time and now when I think over it the GD level wasn't that high.. it was just a couple of points above the higher range.
With my second my husband was going abroad a week before my EDD and she asked me if I wanted to get induced.. i refused. He was back 10 days later.. and on my due date.. she asked me to get induced the next day. I refused again. I told her I"ll wait for a week.. she wasn't very happy with that and wanted to induce me sooner, but I waited out that week. The baby still didn't come and at 7 days past EDD I agreed to the induction.
I don't know about Dr. Shireen but Dr. Robina is super sweet. I almost called her a ***** during labor.. not really but almost. She was very encouraging and very cooperative.
Re: dr ziauddin hospital
CB has given some good info !
But I'll just add my experience. I knew 2 women who had their kids at Ziauddin North Nazimabad , they are fine , the kids are fine too but what I have observed that it took them a little longer to recover from their c section operation. I myself had c section but my recovery did not took like 10-12 months. I don't know if its because of the way they did the operation or anything else.
Other things I would like to mention that they don't have Fetal Doppler ......for your regular checkups they won't use it they will only use it before the delivery or c section....this means you'' only get to know about the heart beat of your baby when you will have an ultrasound. The hygiene is not so good and they don't even provide clothes for the patient. What I have seen is that they have very stupid way of sticking the cannula to your skin , they actually wrap a bandage around the cannula . I don't know why they don't have simple tapes to put on the cannula so that it does not move.
The above are minor things may they won't make a difference to you. But they were quite shocking for me.
I wish you good luck
Re: dr ziauddin hospital
i hope i have a normal delivery this time but as every one says .once a ceserean always a ceserean :( i had my csection at lady dufferin ..n i recovered within 7 days ....this is wat scares me about ziauddin....i have read an article about a woman who had a terrible infection in the stitches had to get them reopened still she didnt get cured:( now its my 6th month i have to stick to dr shereen...plzz jus pray eve fin goes fine wid me:)
Re: dr ziauddin hospital
I am not a doctor but what I have read is that vaginal birth after c section (VBAC) is not very wise  plz don’t mess up with your dr , if she tells you that c section is necessary then go for it.
about getting infection , I once met a lady in feeding room of agha khan hospital , she had a c section in agha khan only and her stitches got infected. what i am trying to say that it can happen anywhere , what that lady told me that she was not given anti biotics after her operation …i wonder why
but do share your concerns with your dr. i don’t think you are late at 6 months. I know that a few doctors do take cases in last months also.
wish you good luck
Re: dr ziauddin hospital
I'v had normal deliveries both times, so know knowledge about their C-section procedure.
They do have dopplers and Dr. Robina used one in almost all my routine checkups. The Hygeine really wasn't too good, especially when I had my first baby. They have a new gynea ward now, which is much cleaner than the previous one, or probably I felt so coz I'd seen the earlier one :) They do provide clothes do the patients, which I only wore during labor and delivery and opted to wear my own PJs later one! :) And diamond is right about the canula part.
Re: dr ziauddin hospital
And yes my next door neighbor and a very good friend had a C-Section at Zia uddin with Dr. Robina and she recovered pretty quickly... a couple of weeks I guess. So I won't worry too much Mrs. Zulfiqar. Just relax, enjoy your pregnancy and leave the rest to Allah.
Re: dr ziauddin hospital
yaa i visited dr shereen yesterday....she doesnt have tyme for the patient at all....its my 6th month ...my pg started at 50 kgs.have jus gained 2 kgs yet...m even having bad cramps near my stitches lower right side....m really really scared...i fink its betta to switch to dr rubina ......it really hurts ..nowadays drs are more concerned about makin money ....they dun even care a heck for the patient....neways lets hope for the best.....
Re: dr ziauddin hospital
Mrs Zulfiqar, Dr. Robina is the same, always busy, always on the run... they are all the same, no matter who you go to. You just need to be very assertive.
Re: dr ziauddin hospital
what abt the North Nazimabad branch? I have gone there in emergency due to vomiting hence dehydration and found the ward nurses and docs very nice. I am planning to stick to this hospital for delivery. Any recommendations? I havent visited the gynaecologist yet. My nineth week has started and I am thinking to visit Dr. Rubina once.
Re: dr ziauddin hospital
