No disrespect intended but because he is on TV and falls under infotainment category.
To reach a real alim, you need to go their masjid and take your shoes off and show respect. You can listen to Zakir Naik in you pajamas while eating pop corn and when you dont want to, you just turn the tv off.
Have not you noticed that people consider Amir Liaquat an alim too. This is the sad state of our loyalty to our religion.
