*yazid ibne muavia was a Taabi. he was mujahid gud administrator, alim and orator of great standing. his succession was accepted by most of sahaba and most of the muslims accepted his bayath including majority of banu hashim. specially the family of hazrat hasan (RA) who even did not supported the kharooj of Hazrat Hussain. *

*hazrat imam ghazali and other scholars have mentioned that it could not be proved from authentic and independent sources that yazid ibn muavia order the killings of hazrat hussain and his matrydom was a tragic accident. so dr. zakir naik has not said sth new. *

*newayz whether he was guilty or not is known to allah who is the better judge. now it is very irrelevant to discuss about the incident of karbala (as it was not the first event as the sahaba had differnce in the earliest era like hazrat saad bin ubada and hazrat abu bakar , hazrat aisha and hazrat ali......... so we cant make judgement as it is the prerogative of allah). we are not accountable for the acts of hazrat hussain and yazid. *

what we are required to do is to lead our life according to quran and sunnah. may allah show all of us right path.

Maverick although I m not qualified enough to take part in this discussion, but the only thing I know and have grown up listening and even believing that that guy Yazid was a bloody bigot who ordered the murder of family of the holy prophet, which included one infant too. Dr. Zakir Naik has presented an opinion and his opinion is not new. in history many scholars have that view.

u cant stop an alim from saying sth provided same is backed by knowledge and ratinale.

like the shia's have a very different definition and "opinion" about the sahaba................ and we tolerate

Why would the comparison not bring any good? One killed another. Comparison is bound to happen.
A so-called "Taabi" killed a Sahabi of Rasoolallah and a member of Ahlul Bayt. He then enslaved and abused women of Rasoolallah's family and brought them in his court in front of other "taabi"s.
If you call Yazid a "taabi" then you should also call Abu Jahl a "Sahabi".

All such opinions of these NASIBI scholars go down the drain when one compares who Imam Hussain was, and who Yazid was.
May be this is why you are afraid of comparisons between them, because the comparison clearly shows the low character of such scholars who defended Yazid's killing of Ahlul Bayt.

let me set you straight the ijma of ahle sunnah scholars is that in all his wars ali b alitalib was right and all those who opposed him were wrong.Plus this is not merely a historical issue but a RELIGIOUS one. As all laws in Shariah pertaining to dealing with muslim rebels come from the Quran and EXAMPLE OF ALI B ABITALIB.

She is no doubt the wife of Prophet and our mother, but muslims had the option to support either mother or what was Haqq and Ali was on Haqq at that time.( refer to sahih muslim and hadith of ammar in the mosque of kufa)
