This is indeed a big blow to ARY. Geo's programs are much better and more attractive than ARYs. Plus, ARY has way too many commercials.
I hope Anwer Maqsood and Moin Akhtar move over to Geo as well.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. GEO already have big names in informative reporting like Hamid Mir, Kamran Khan. I am looking forward to see how will Shahid Masood fit into the team. On ARY he had no competitors at all.

Give me a break. How's Dr. Shahid Masood spreading MQM's propaganda? It could be even the very reason he's leaving ARY. If Geo is the same as ARY in its dealing with MQM, then it's clearly not him.
He's a genius. I wonder what led him to this move. Regardless, I hope he keeps doing what he does.

Dr Shahid, apparently in an interview on Nadia Khan Show,
clarified that his move to Geo has nothing to do with money or a lucrative package..
He added that he left Ary because of the immense pressure on him and on Ary Digital for his programme 'views on news' by musharraf government and internationally..the programme was stopped for some time due to that and when resumed was not quite the same due the pressure etc..
He went on saying that he is grateful to Ary for whatever it did for him..
He said that he joined Geo on the condition that he be allowed to speak for his conscience and that of the people and there shall be no pressure on him from the Geo administration..

Shaheen Sehbai is an America-based veteran Pakistani journalist. He has worked as a reporter for the Dawn newspaper in Washington D.C. and then later as an editor for The News International in Islamabad. Most of us know Shaheen from South Asia Tribune.com.
another news is Hamid Mir from Geo may have resigned- altough no body from GEO has confirmed- people from ARY said that he had a meeting with Salman Iqbal last week !

I doubt they are reading tazbeehs to defeat ARY, suhaib. They're doing what every channel tries to do - provide quality entertainment and news. ARY is doing the same, Indus is doing the same. Quite frankly, quality-wise, none of them are at par with top ranking international media, and therefore, I don't understand this kindergarten fuss of "Oo, look Geo is beating ARY" or "Oo, look ARY is beating Geo".
Its like saying "Hey look, that kid is just a tad bit more retarded than the other one".
