KARACHI: Renowned anchorperson and news analyst, Dr Shahid Masood, has assumed the responsibilities of President of ARY Digital Network, ARY NEWS has reported.
“Dr Shahid Masood has joined ARY Digital Network as President. He will be the administrative head of all the sub companies of the network,” said an announcement by the group issued here Thursday.
Salman Iqbal, CEO and MD of the group, has felicitated Dr Masood on assuming new responsibilities and wished him a good luck, the channel reports.
He never got a 'better' offer from anywhere..the most he was being paid was at Ptv.. not even GEO. He leaves because he's asked to leave.. he didn't 'move' from GEO for a better pay..better work enviroment etc. He was asked to leave.
If he left for a better package/salary (who wouldnt wanna be the president of a large company), or was asked to leave by Geo for unforseen reasons... Either case, apart from some delusional Musharraf/Muttehda lovers, no one really cares as long as he continues to speak his mind.
Chichoray, when PML[N] forms the Govt and runs Pakistan, probably after the next elections, you will see Dr. Masood vehemently criticizing them, and pointing out the flaws in their governance. So until then, keep a choosni on it please. Right now PML[n] is opposition and Dr. Masood has criticized their roles as opposition lots of times, on the friendly stance they have provided to the PPP so far.
So what makes a 'true' journalist accept such incentives of power & money from the very same leaders who are corrupt in his own opinion? What makes a journalist accept such incentives & stop 'speaking his mind'? So if india offerred him more of such 'packages / salary', he would speak what they desire him to? That is not 'speaking your mind'. That's like a bandar dancing at the tunes of whoever paid him. Is it not? And these same journalists claim to be the only messengers of 'truth'. Professionalism?

Dr. Masood is not a journalist

Who are you referring to? Are you implying Zardari owns ARY? IF he does, wouldnt it be awesome to see Dr. Masood going on HIS channel and bashing the hell out of him?

Again, you are confused. Dr. Masood isnt a sahafi.

When he moves to India, works for Zee TV or something, please feel free to post this silly question.

So when you leave your present job and move to a better position, can I call you a dancing bandar too? And FYI, he has worked in ARY before, and as far as I remember, hes never sang to anyones tunes.
