When the amount light coming through the sunglasses is less then some photons are indeed being stopped … also a coloured filter infers that light of given wavelengths are transmitted and other photons are intercepted. Sunglasses hence act like photon filters and photon blocks as well … Polaroid lenses will prevent transverse waves but allow vertical waves to enter.
