Anyone know abt him? I saw him on one of Geo programs called Alif and I liked his way of reasoning. I have searched the net but couldnt find much. So if anyone has details about his teachings, pls enlighten us.

There's a really good article in NY Times about muslims from different ethnicities in New York, and it talks a lot about Dr. Khan and his efforts in the muslim community especially on Long Island, NY.

I've spoken to him briefly in the masjid once, and found him to be a nice helpful fellow. He's well respected in the community.
Wait a minute, I don't think we are talking about the same Dr. Khan :P, because I don't think the one residing in NY "teaches" per se. He's just very active in the muslim community, as in fundraisers, school development, dialogue with politicians and other communities.

I have prayed many Fridays in that mosque.. it’s in westbury… My office used to be on Jericho TPKE just behind the Brush Hollow Rd. .. but I never saw Dr. Farooq to be that much of a teacher.. yeah he delivers jumuah sermons and all but never knew he was on Geo

heeeyy…i found Dr Farooq’s website. I just caught the second part of the program he took part in. His full name is Dr. Mohammad Farooq Khan. So I searched with this on google and his website was at the top. It looks like he is a student of Javed Ghamidi cuz if u go to his site all the links point to Dr. Ghamidi’s websites.
Now this is interesting. I had no idea that Dr. Farooq had any association with Javed Ghamidi when I first heard him and incidently, I am a very big fan of Javed Ahmed Ghamidi.

he is a doctor by profession and an elder well respected community leader in long island, ny
he is from Kashmire originally
he is very nice and he opened the icli mosque and islamic center back in 1982 i think,
i know mrs. Arfa Khan as well. also a doctor.
and the family is a very nice example of community leaders.
i am not sure, if your question about a particular dr. farooq khan in answered with info on more than on dr. farooq khan.
