Dr. Farhat Hashmi

I know she used to live in Saudi Arabia. I was wondering if anyone knows much about her. Heard she has a school for girls called AL-HUDA.

Anyone familiar with her teachings ?

who is this??...can u provide some more details abt her..is she paki?

Assalamo alaykum,

She is a very famous scholar in and outside Pakistan. I have personally listened to her fahm-ul-Quran (or tehfeem Quran), which is the tafsir of the Quran. Masha’Allah, she’s done an excellent job and has used present day examples to help women understand better.

She recently visited Toronto, Canada for a 5 day tour. I was fortunate enough to attend 2 days of it. I was very much impressed by her knowledge. She really made it easy to understand and her lectures were suited for all ages.

Here’s the url for her website: http://www.alhudapk.com/

May Allah reward her for her efforts.

Dr. Farhat Naseem Hashmi
This name today is synonymous with Al-Huda, a non-sectarian organization that is devoted to the cause of spreading Quranic education and bringing people closer to their Creator, ALLAH Subhanahu Wa Taala. This institute is the brainchild of Dr. Farhat and her husband, Dr. Idrees Zubair who are both enlightened Islamic scholars engaged in selfless dawa work.
Born in Sargodha, Punjab, Dr. Farhat is the daughter of (Late) Abdur Rehman Hashmi, a prominent religious scholar.
Dr. Farhat had the good fortune of having the seed of the love of Islamic learning embedded in her mind and heart by her father, whose imprints are strong on her personality.
She acquired her initial education in her hometown and simultaneously acquired Quranic education from her father. She received her MA in Arabic, and was married shortly afterwards.
Both she and her husband proceeded to University of Glasgow, Scotland, for their PhD in Islamic Studies. Though they are both extensively involved in the work of Deen, they are also committed parents to their four children.
During her time at university, she travelled extensively to Syria, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan and Saudi Arabia with her husband where they met and debated with the Arab world's foremost Islamic scholars. Since then her religious perspectives continue to broaden.
The sight of the Urdu-speaking community gathering together to hear Farhat Hashmi's lectures has become a familiar sight in many countries.
She has fired the hearts of thousands of women all over the world who attend her lectures and listen to her tapes.
Her strong but mellow voice commands pin-drop silence. Women fervently take notes, hanging on to her every word.
Her Ramadan Quran course was established in Pakistan several years ago. Today it pulls in thousands of women, both nationwide as well as from all over the world including the United States and Europe.
She is the author of a variety of topics on Islamic thought and issues related to family life and social problems.
What began as a Quran class for 50 women in 1994 in Islamabad is now a nationwide educational movement with institutions in four main cities.
