grow up and give respect where its due, He was a Pakistani no matter he was a Ahmadi or else. He was great scientist and should be given respect.
Even if you hate his faith, his personal matter. shouldnt stop you respect him as national hero.

Its not Islam vs Pakistan.
Pakistan is our Country and Islam is our faith. both are different.
People living in Pakistan muslims and non muslims are equal and PAkistanis and should be treated as such.
Spock, last topic about physics I have read was in last Msc when studying attanuation in fibre links. and btw Dr Salam names was mentioned many times during my MSc lectures here in London by one of the lecturer. Cause I was the only Pakistani in the class he always looked at me while mentioning his name.

The day Pakistan starts teaching children in their history books about Dr. Salaam, that day Pakistan will probably be a developed nation.

aj, I actually remember being taught about Abdus Salaam, and was asked to write a biography on him, and how his work influences us to study physics. Alot of us had to goto the British Council Islamabad just to get our hands on Britannica and other encyclopedias as none of our local books had anything on him. I wonder if there are any physics experts on this forum, and what they think of the electroweak theory which won him the nobel prize.

Its about some at some frequancies some partical apear different.
I vaguely**remember it reading in "brief history of time" by stephen hawking.
I was excited to read Dr. salam's name in that book.
He got noble prize 10 years after first presenting that paper.

I am sure all of you know who this Alfred Nobel was who set up the so called "Nobel Peace Prize" amoung all other prizes for human excellence.
Alfred Nobel was the inventor of TNT Tri-Nitro-Toluene, a clean burning explosive used in the manufacture of Hi Explosives, used to destroy human life, and blow up things, main ingredient in all bombs other than Nuclear.
**Isn't it ironic that a Man who enormously profits from providing the main ingredient for weapons of MASS DESTRUCTION, has a peace prize named after him!!!:( **

If by chance you had studied beyond matric ( with science ) in pakistan, you would have found him in physics book :p
He was a great scientist and a patriotic pakistan. We are proud of him
