Not at all - in India, we just arm twist the universities to hand over honorary doctorates. A few years ago the current CM of Tamil is famed (don’t know if true) to have sent some sycophants to Rice university in attempts to get one from a ‘real’ american university.
There’s no getting away from this - the desi clowns are living upto the same dna on both sides of LOCs. The arabs and the moguls have had no effect at all!

degrees were just supposed to be one tool to ensure that those who entr parliament are men and not baboons...it may have been a failed tool, but its a fact, education can turn a savage into a cultured being and if nothing else, atleast leaves lesser room for things to go wrong in the head...and besides, shouldnt education be a non-elitest phenomenon? it is a shame however that it isnt representataive of the people in our part of the globe...

One of my cousin has a MBBS from Sindh Medical College.....the only attribute I see in him that would have enabled him to get the admission and degree was that he was a member of APMSO....Otherwise I don't know how he got into the College nor how qualified/earned the degree.....
MBBS degrees are dime a dozen in Pakistan and with many private college croping up, the value of these degrees have dialuted even further....
Also....all those second generation pakistanis who do not cut at the universities in the US and struggle....guess where they all end up....in Pakistan earning their MBBS.....Baqai in Karachi is know for this......

Agha Khan University,Dow Medical College has produced many fine medical docs,working at Harvard/Stanford & John Hopkins in USA…All in very good fields…Don’t curse your own institutions…especially if you are a Pakistani…
SMC,Baqai,Hamdard are also known all over the world…with their degrees accepted by WHO & recognized by USA…
If you didn’t end up getting a good education ,don’t curse others…

That is true. I got educated from NED univ, karachi. In USA, I saw the worst kind of back benchers in my class, who used to cheat in exams all the time…they did MS with flying colors, from where? Wichita univ…the same univ where BVT was educated 
The top students from my NED univ r in the best companies, and some did not even study after graduation. Pakistans univ produce the best students, not because they have good teachers or labs, but becuase these students excel in studies, without any help.

I do think eduation is a darned good idea. problem is if you start branding someone uneducated if they don’t have a uni degree. If you bring that rule to the US do you realize some 60% of voting population will be ineligible?
And colleged have bred some of the worst rowdies

slightly off the topic, if it was too easy to get degrees from a Pakistani medical school, Mr Amir should have got it from them, not web based virtual trinity collge. That could have been more useful in this case.
about Medical school and engineering ones. they are quite well and dont fall under normal graduate calibre. they have professional degrees of 4- 5 years and are reconginsed world over and listed in WHO. when normal graduates are not accepted at foreign universities because they are really not up to standard but the professional one are accepted and worth it.
now Mr Amir should have come clean if this "Ummat" is wrong. by now govt should have started investigation into this matter as well.
he said in news that he has MBBS and Phd both.
even he has fake MBBS from Pak he will be allowed to stay in govt. but trinity college is not accepted by HEC anyway.
indeed Ummat may have made it up, they could ordered all these themself and then slap this to AMir. but if he is right he should come clean and defend himself and sue this paper.
in my views he should be removed if he has some valid and some fakes cause he lied about it.

It is often said why Muslims both as individuals as well as collectively as an Umah with each passing day are going down the drain. The only reason is its leaders scholars preachers all are mostly characterless. But those who are educated but self labeled scholars particularly who preach day and night Islam like this MQM Alim Online are in fact the real cause of deterioration of condition of Muslim and giving bad image to Islam. Young generation and foreigners when see speaking such Alims like MQM On Line Alim Dr. Amir Liaquat Hussain having fake degree get wrong idea about Islam and Muslims as a whole and cannot think it is just an individual’s act. This is why there is no convincing spirit left today in Islamic lectures. MQM is filled with bogus degrees holders. Some years ago someone wrote that he went to Karachi in 1965/19970 and found every third house in Drigh Colony, P.I.B Colony, Nazimabad and Dastgir Colony having the name plate with Alig (Ali Garh University Degree Holder). The person rightly stated that if all those Alig name plates were counted it would exceed the number of Muslim students having obtained Degrees till then from the University. Majority of these Aligs cannot produce their Degrees on the ground it was left in India at migration.

if liaqat was a medical doctor from pakistan, he wouldnt have forced the karachi university guys to authenticate his degree from a fake university...cuz a degree from a pakistani university would easily have been validated...and since he used a fake document to allow himself to stand in the elections, it shows his credibility...
