CHUNA laga gaya Musharraf aur sare Qoom ko. I was very inspired by his personality and thinks about him as a modern and moderate muslim scholar. Magar yeah to doosray moulveyon jaisa nikla. i forgot that he is a politician first then anything else. Islam kay naam per ULOO bana too koi in politicians say sikhay.

meanwhile, if all this abt the degrees is to be believed and is proven true, we could still look at it from a diff angle…take a look at the non-grads or grads who ran the govt in the past, they were all alike. many have claimed that even Imran Khan’s degree from Oxford Univ UK in Political Sciences is a fake, which is proven to be a false allegation. ppl say Benazir doesnt have any degree from Oxford; she attended the univ and was there around te time Imran Khan was there, but its said she never graduated…Mian Nawaz Sharif had a graduate degree and had civil looks…but to no use
so iguess keeping in view the absurdities we as nation have become used to, we should start weihing them all on a diff scale…the degrees and education problems dont seem to be changing anytime soon… so lets weigh their efficiency etc on what they have given (whether with sincere or insincere intentions) to the public and the nation…and another thing to weigh them could be the general auras that everyone can feel…if amir liaquat isnt a graduate degree holder, he does have a lot of knowledge regarding history, current affairs, relgion and so on…the way he talks does sound educated and learned…so does it matterr if he has a degree or not…
btw, i’m not supporting him or anything just a view from a diff angle…if all these allegations are proven true this would be such a shame for everyone, president, PM, all pakistanis, all media…
and one more thing i notice is, a lot of politicians these days have MBBS degrees, i wonder if they are real ones…

guys, i spoke to someone very knowledgeable about this and they were saying that Aamer Liaqat is indeed a doctor from Karachi, he is a doctor doctor not a PhD.
stuff from UMMAT akhbaar is not to be taken seriously b/c it is an anti-MQM akhbaar and they prolly came up with this article since Amer Liaqat is an MQM ka banda. besides UMMAT is one of those cheap newspapers which is not taken seriously.

u obviously have not read the Ummat report, and obviously u have not gone to the degree awarding web site (Trinity). Everything is fake. This guy got masters and PhD degrees from a fake instittute. That the degfrees r not valid, is not even disputed by the web site.
if u study at stanford, as some one said, then i guess, u ought to show little bit more intellectual curiosity than this.
Ummat is anti-MQM, but it does not mean that everything it says is wrong. They reported this, and provided proofs

from what i know and from what most ppl know he claims to be a medical doctor from a medical college in karachi i believe
and that hasn't been misproved by UMMAT
this masters/phd stuff is totally new so i dont know
if this was such a serious and authentic matter then things would surely be taken seriously...he can even be disqualified as MP...
these akhbaar's like UMMAT are known for their false and fabricated reporting so unless i see some more detailed and authentic news, supported by other newspapers, i wouldnt pay much heed to what UMMAT has to say

Having a mickey mouse MBBS degree from numerous medical colleges in Pakistan does not prevent one from obtaining fake degrees in other discipline like Islamic studies to legitimize their credentials and pass themselves off as an authority in the said subject as Amir Liaqat has done…

actually Irem is right, Amir Liaquat was initially known as Dr as in MD; a medical doctor from either DMC karachi or KMC, not sure which. and it is said he has a PH.D in some subject on modern islamic stuff and his thesis was on modern islamic terrorism and the west or smthng like that and it was said he got it from Trinity College London...(?) his dad has been an active MQM person all his life. now technically even if for some reason he got into thsi fake degree mess, the Ummat newspaper has got proof only against the BA, MA and PhD and not the MBBS kept in reserve. now whether that is a fake too would require more research, collection and publication of proofs. meanwhile its interesting to note that a large percentage of MQM leaders have MBBS degrees from various medical colleges, which are often bases of their political activities...that could be suspicious...
on the other hand though, Ummat indeed is a second rate publication and not a mainstream one and such tremendous months long research put into uncovering/defaming Amir Liaquat does seem out of place. is there nothing else left for them to research on...? why not faisal saleh hayats total amount of defaulted loans, and whether he plans to return here or not and so on... why not uncover someone who has directly harmed the nation and its people, why someone who hasnt (atleast not directly so far) harmed the nation and public...?
