Hindu cultures still persists in most parts of Pakistan, though when someone does it the Islamic way, they are called "Daughter Sellers".

no unfortunately its the tradition in pakistan as well. though i think more and more ppl r realizing it how ridiculous and stupid it is. atleast i hope they r.
Gosh I would be kind of embarassed. I mean you get married when you are well and ready to take care of yourself and your wife. I don't want anyone giving anything. Struggle is a part of early adult life and I kinda look forward to it struggling to make it with my life partner....
