i heard of a case recently where a loser guy got married to a girl and his family took dowry from hers… when he came to the US abt 5 yrs ago and started having an affair here, he asked his wife for a divorce. she promptly filed a dowry case against him :k:
her in laws got some jail time and public bisti, and the jerk has not been able to go back to india for abt 4 years now… the minute he shows his face back home the police can throw him in jail. i just wish there was more that could be done to teach him and his parents a lesson… coz the girl’s life is forever ruined. i guess it’s her family’s fault too to some extent for entertaining their demands… it’s too bad some ppl continue to perpetuate sick customs in the name of “culture”.
