1GB ram, 3.4GHZ w/HT, P4, at least 1MB T1 LAN(for internet)
i think this shud work for you

if that is not even remotely feasible then try using a google download speed increase search query......which is really really fast:D

try downloading, "download accelerator plus" a must have. This is a great software, if for instance ure trying to download nero from one location it will give u a specific download speed...but with Download accelerator plus (DAP) it searches for about 4-7 more urls for the same program to get downloaded in much faster speed...... i think u should give this a try..

just copy paste the name of the software in download.com search..to download

try freeing up space on the computer, i am sure that there are some download accelertators online, try searching for them and download them.

Its something that helps downloading files. A sort of download manager if you will. You can stop downloading and start again the next day continuing where you stopped Next to that it downloads the same file from several different places so its faster.
