Re: doumentation for travel to Pakistan…
^^ you don’t need visa. Your NICOP will work.
I recently made a trip to Pakistan. We decided to get visa on my son’s US passport instead of nicop. Nicop I thought was risky… people had to wait for long to get it. I got visa from Pakistani consulate in NYC. Submitted the passport in the morning and was told to pick it up in the afternoon.
Re: doumentation for travel to Pakistan…
We got our son’s passport with the visa back from the consulate…yay!!!
Re: doumentation for travel to Pakistan…
^thats great! I’m sending my sons passport tomorrow for visa. I’m a bit hesitant though to send it through post (we don’t have a consulate in the province we live) ; but oh well.
Re: doumentation for travel to Pakistan…
^^ i had to send it through post too. I used priority for sending the passport and documents and stamped express mail envelope for return. I had to send it to the Houston consulate and it came in a week.
Re: doumentation for travel to Pakistan…
I sent my kids passport today with priority mail too (today). they said it’ll be there in a day. I will be relieved when i get it back ![]()
Re: doumentation for travel to Pakistan…
i’m a bit confused. someone mentioned once you get married you have to get a new NICOP and another person said i don’t and can still travel on it. can anyone confirm which is correct? if i’m not mistaken, the NICOP states your mehram’s name…so in my case it has my dad’s name. FYI- i did not change my name after marriage so its still the same.
Re: doumentation for travel to Pakistan…
I said when inquiring for my son’NICOP, I was told that before I can apply for his Nicop, I have to change my marital status on my NICOP. I have to attach my and my husband’s NICOP copy with my son’s application. We though it was a long process of first changing my NICOP and then applying for my son’s NICOP, so we just went with a visa for him.
I am pretty sure copy of your marriage certificate and your child’s birth certificate should be enough for your child to get his nicop. I remember reading it somewhere.
