Experts can correct me if I am wrong…everyone can have doubt in their faith sometime, even Hazrat Omar RA used to say he had some days that he doubted his Faith!..a very staunch Sahabi and second Khalifa of the Muslim Ummah had doubts so who are we not to have doubts occasionally!

I’d expect this doubt to be Umar RadiAllahu anhu having doubts about himself, not about the actual truth

There is a hadith I have heard where some Sahabis came to the Messenger of Allaah SallAllaahi Alaihi wa alihi wa sallam and said ‘we have thoughts that we can not speak’ and the Messenger of Allaah SallAllaahu Alaihi wa alihi wa sallam said that was a sign of faith. The understanding of the hadith is that hating them thoughts is a sign of faith
