Mamaof3, ya know i love u... but comon now. if u claim that sex for fun is practiced by more males than females then unless these men are screwing sheep this statement isnt true. as they say if u hang with an idiot sooner or later u become one... i hope u catch my drift. ur still my number one mama here. :)

Now all this would not matter, except I'm talking about Pakistani men, who for the most part are muslim and have no problem in turning around and pointing fingers and degrading girls. And it does happen quite a bit. The reason I opened the thread was to see how prevalent the thought process is.

And you and your mantra of Pakistani men/muslim men are bad never stops. Get a grip woman and move on. Find something else to talk about.
Kaleem, its simple. I don't open 20 threads a day here in this life1 forum. I've got maybe a handful open right now, and people are active in them. You dont like my topics, then don't click. :)
lazy daisy it's not a male or fe,male thing, double standards are double standards and thus wrong. i have seen both men and women do the kind of stuff that they shouldn't, taking advantage of others and abusing other ppl's trust, it's all about having good morals and some common sense and respect for others.
Although i think double standards r unfair, esp. when i was younger...i've come to realise that SOME of them came about for a reason, and parents generally have them to protect their children. For ex., when i was younger i always complained that my bro was allowed to go out at nite and i wasn't. He went with his guy friends and wanted to go with *girl *friends. I thought it was an injustice. But now that i'm older, i see that my parents were rite in a way. If a bunch of girls were out late, by themselves and some guy(s) attacked them, most likely they wouldn't be able to protect themselves...at least, not as well as a guy. Striving towards equality is one thing, but let's face it...women can't do everything men do...esp. physically. And my mum wud always say "go with ur bro", but i'd always pass hehe...of course i cudn't tell her i wud have some guy friends with me also, so i just came to accept it.
So to me, yes they r there...and sometimes they r in our best interests. But with labels and stereotypes, i don't think they exist anymore really. If u "sleep around", then some may call u a tart etc....male or female. I don't see the use in complaining, it seems immature. It's all in ur thinking really, change how u see someone and it doesn't seem so bad afterall. Double standards aren't always wrong, but labels and stereotyping is, in my opinion.
If you're going to tell your daughter to not go out at night because you feel a group of girls can't protect themselves, then you shouldn't let your son go out either. If you think guys don't get hurt when they're out at night, then you're dead wrong. Men can get mugged late at night, they can get hit by a drunk driver coming out of club/party, etc etc.
Not to mention the fact that kids who are raised to stay in during the night time, just come out to be better. These are usually the better students, because they take that night time and they do something productive at home with it. They spend their evening studying, spending time with family, etc. And that's good for both guys and girls.
Plus, if you dont let your son out at night, just like you prohibit the daughter, then you wont make the daughter feel that she has less power than her brother. I at least think that's a very important aspect. I woudl never want my sons to feel like they have license to dominate over my daughters just because I let them out at night because they're boys.
so true, PCG! the weakness is fisrt in the heas, now many young women are weak cause they feel they are, and so take no actions to be and feel strong…
any bad guy can see in your eyes if you are strong and determined or weak and easy prey! if you let others abuse you without actions cause you’ve been told women are too weak to defend i bet you’ll get more trouble that a gal that is used to shout at guys and kick their ass:D
