Double Standards

I wanted to know why is having double standards wrong? Who decided that it was wrong and does it not interfere with your judgements and opinions regarding actions or circumstances?

If you have formed an opinion eg whether you like or dislike an action for a reason that you believe is because of the specific circumstance, and form the opposite opinion to the same action for a reason due to a different circumstance then how can one say that I need the same opinion for both circumstances just so that I don’t have double standards?

I mean, if you can justify why then it should be ok right, and I need not be accused of double standards? And why do people accuse others of double standards anyway, when they don’t know why somebody believes what they do believe?

it comes down to what the action was or what the circumstance was

for example if u allow one daughter to date, and not the other.. thats double standards

but if ur son can stay out till 6am and ur daughter cant, thats prob double standards to some.. and to others, quite reasonable
